Description

Reporting to the Vice-President of Group Benefits and Retirement Savings, Product Development and Training Division, Group Insurance, the Product Director, Drug Benefits is responsible for recommending positioning, strategies, and direction for the product offer that support the achievement of the company’s objectives. The Product Director, Drug Benefits actively contributes to the evolution of the product offer across Canada. You will be responsible for the development, optimization, and profitable evolution of the overall health offering in line with Desjardins’ targeted position in the industry. More specifically, you will be required to:

  • Analyze drug consumption trends to inform strategic insights and drive the implementation of targeted interventions

  • Increase appreciation and visibility of our service offer among internal and external clients, strengthen trust, and demonstrate our expertise on a national level

  • Communicate strategic information related to emerging drug trends, existing control measures, and propose areas for improvement

  • Conduct drug utilization reviews and develop content tailored to the need of business development team and clients

  • Ensure the identification and implementation of improvements to the drug product offer based on member and client needs, business priorities, and market evolution

  • Actively contribute to the ongoing management of the service offer and the implementation of new initiatives

  • Act as a recognized subject-matter expert, representing the organization on various committees to exert a proactive and recognized influence in the industry

  • Maintain strategic relationships with the pharmaceutical companies

  • Be accountable for the overall strategy surrounding drug evaluations and product listing agreements, either directly or through a partner

  • Monitor performance indicators for the programs and services under your responsibility and propose adjustments as needed

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor’s degree in pharmacyor a related field

  • A minimum of eight years of relevant experience, including four to five years in group insurance and product development

  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered

  • Significant experience in the pharmaceutical field

  • Proven experience working in a project-based environment

  • Strong communication skills in both French and English, both oral and written due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with english-speaking partners, members and/or clients

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and act as a subject-matter expert with executive-level stakeholders

  • Familiarity with drug claims processing systems

  • Knowledge of data analytics and pharmacoeconomics

  • Understanding of the various provincial drug insurance plans
