About the Role
Our client, a leading manufacturer in the food and pharmaceutical sector, is seeking a Production Planner – Packaging to join their dynamic team. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you will play a key role in coordinating production activities across departments including Production, Procurement, Maintenance, and Logistics to ensure seamless packaging operations aligned with business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage production and packaging schedules based on customer demand and inventory levels.
- Generate and release work orders to optimize workflow and minimize delays.
- Collaborate with Sales and Supply Chain to adjust shipment plans and meet delivery targets.
- Assess and allocate resources including labor, equipment, and raw materials to meet production goals.
- Coordinate shift schedules and labor planning with Operations to ensure adequate coverage.
- Monitor production progress to ensure timely completion, cost efficiency, and quality standards.
- Actively participate in S&OP processes, labor forecasting, and capital project planning.
- Support cross-functional initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 4 years of experience in production planning within food or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Experience working with ERP systems; SAP preferred.
- Certificate or Diploma in Project Management, SCMP, or equivalent; PMP certification is a strong asset.
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant academic background in Manufacturing, Mechanical Operations, or related fields.
- Solid understanding of production planning and control principles.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
