We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager in the civil and Shallow Utility construction industry.

Our client is a well-established and growing construction company with over two decades of success delivering high-quality infrastructure projects. They’re searching for a driven and detail-oriented Project Manager to oversee Shallow Utility projects from concept to completion. This role offers the opportunity to lead key initiatives, manage budgets and schedules, and play a crucial role in shaping project outcomes across various phases of development.

Project Manager responsibilities:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle
  • Develop, track, and manage project budgets and schedules
  • Oversee contract preparation, negotiation, and execution
  • Coordinate all permit and licensing requirements to ensure project compliance
  • Manage procurement of equipment and materials to align with project goals
  • Lead and document the change order process and maintain accurate records
  • Monitor and report on financial performance, including forecasting and cost control
  • Direct subcontractor and supplier activities to meet deadlines and quality standards
  • Process and approve supplier and subcontractor invoices
  • Ensure projects meet all safety and environmental regulations
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts to enhance project delivery
  • Estimate and submit bids for shallow utility projects

The successful candidate has:

  • 3–5 years of experience managing Shallow Utility civil infrastructure or commercial construction projects
  • Experience with project estimating and bidding processes
  • Strong proficiency with project management and construction software
  • Prior use of B2W estimating software is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of municipal construction practices, ideally within Calgary and surrounding regions
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • A collaborative, adaptable mindset with a focus on results and accountability
