Description

We are seeking a Project Scheduler & Planner to join a major oil and gas company in Edmonton on a 1-year contract supporting a strategic capital project. This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and integrating project schedules, as well as implementing and managing progress tracking systems. The successful candidate will work closely with project teams and contractors to ensure alignment with project goals, timely reporting, and early identification of schedule risks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using tools such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
  • Implement and manage progress measurement systems to support accurate reporting and forecasting.
  • Review contractor schedules for logic, completeness, and alignment with project milestones and deliverables.
  • Monitor schedule performance and identify deviations, trends, and risks.
  • Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure schedule integration and consistency.
  • Support capital efficiency initiatives and continuous improvement in project planning practices.
  • Prepare and issue schedule reports and updates in accordance with client requirements.
  • Qualifications & Skills

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
    • 5+ years of experience in project planning and scheduling, preferably in oil & gas or industrial projects.
    • Proficiency in scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project, etc.).
    • Strong analytical and communication skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
    • Willingness to work on-site in Edmonton and adapt to project needs.
    • Familiarity with Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), Earned Value Management (EVM), and schedule risk analysis is an asset.
