Postdoctoral Research Fellow – Laser Systems and Optical ExperimentationA leading applied research organisation dedicated to advancing quantum and photonic technologies is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to support the development of cutting-edge laser systems in a highly collaborative research environment.Position OverviewWe are seeking a driven and capable Postdoctoral Research Fellow with hands-on experience in the design, characterisation, and operation of high-power laser systems (Class 3 and Class 4) and optical laboratory experimentation. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team focused on advancing optical and quantum technologies from concept to practical application.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop high-power laser systems for advanced scientific applicationsSet up and optimise optical table experiments, including alignment and diagnosticsCarry out experimental investigations, collect data, and analyse resultsCollaborate closely with a team of physicists and engineersDocument research and contribute to high-quality publications and reportsEssential QualificationsPhD in Physics, Optical Engineering, Photonics, or a related disciplineDemonstrated experience with:Class 3 or Class 4 laser system design and characterisationSetting up and conducting experiments on optical tablesExperimental data acquisition and analysisStrong publication record in relevant scientific fieldsExcellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environmentFollowing your application Chris Green, a specialist recruiter will discuss the opportunity with you in detail.
