OrthoPediatrics Canada (Pega Medical) is looking for a R&D Intern to join its dynamic team. Pega Medical is a company specializing in the design, development, evaluation, and manufacturing of medical devices. Our dedication to pediatric orthopedics over the last two decades has established Pega Medical as the first medical device manufacturer fully devoted to the development of specialty orthopedic implants for children.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain DHF, DMR, MDR technical files, adhering to Pega Medical procedures.
- Participate/organize Brainstorming initiatives with respect to design and optimization of new and existing devices
- Sketch out design concepts, transfer concepts to 3D modeling using SolidWorks
- Prepare Engineering Drawings for transfer to production using SolidWorks
- Create Engineering Change orders on existing products following Quality System procedures.
- Support Production team in resolving technical issues on the product lines
- Source instrumentation with external approved vendors
- Support Regulatory, Sales and Marketing departments
- Collaborate with Quality department in continuous improvement processes
- Report progress and status of assigned projects on a timely basis.
Requirements:
- Student in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering
- Must be proficient in spoken/written English
- Must be eligible to work in Canada at time of application
- Knowledge in 3D modeling and 2D drawings – SolidWorks experience preferred
- Working knowledge of anatomy from an orthopedic standpoint preferred
- Regulatory (FDA, HC, CE) and Quality System (ISO 13485) knowledge preferred
Availability:
- Full-time 16 weeks (40h/w), at Laval Headquarters (in-person)
- Possibility to extend internship into summer (8+ months).
