Position Overview:

The SAP FICO Analyst at Stella-Jones is responsible for driving the optimization and integration of SAP Financial Accounting (FI) and Controlling (CO) modules with various ancillary systems, including Sovos, VIM (Vendor Invoice Management), Budget Planning tools, Blackline, and SAP Concur. This position is crucial in ensuring seamless financial processes, accurate reporting, and compliance across multiple platforms.

This position will be remote (home-based) or Hybrid at one of our manufacturing plants ideally in the Pacific or Mountain time zones, with some travel (up to 5%) in Canada and the US.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements related to financial processes, compliance, and reporting across SAP FICO and related systems.
  • Configure, implement, and maintain the SAP FICO modules to align with business needs, industry best practices, and company policies.
  • Participate in implementation projects, including requirement gathering, solution design, testing, training, and post-implementation support.
  • Conduct system testing, data validation, and performance tuning to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data across integrated platforms.
  • Proactively identify and propose business process and/or system enhancements.
  • Document functional designs, test cases and results.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to SAP FICO and integrated systems, collaborating with technical teams to propose and implement effective solutions.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, user guides, and training materials for integrated financial processes.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, SAP updates, and best practices, recommending enhancements and process improvements.
  • Provide user training and support to maximize the utilization of integrated systems and resolve user issues promptly.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of overall experience as an SAP FICO Analyst, including hands-on configuration and integration experience with any of the following application: Sovos, VIM, Budget Planning tools, Blackline, and SAP Concur.
  • 3+ years of hands-on configuration and integration experience with some of the above-listed tools
  • Proven expertise and hands-on experience with Actual costing
  • Advanced proficiency in supporting and configuring SAP Financial Accounting (FI) and Controlling (CO) modules, with hands-on experience across key functions including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), Fixed Asset Accounting, Intercompany Accounting, and Treasury & Banking processes.
  • Experience in FI integration points with other SAP modules like MM, PP and TM.
  • Proficiency in managing complex financial processes, compliance, and reporting requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration abilities, fostering a productive team environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 5% in the US and Canada
