Adecco is currently hiring a temporary Seed Lab Assistant to work morning shifts at our client’s farm near Saskatoon, SK. In this role, you will assist in testing, preparing, and analyzing seed samples to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards. This role requires detail-oriented individuals who enjoy working in a lab environment and supporting agricultural research and production. This position does require reliable transportation.

  • Pay Rate: $ 15.75/hour
  • Location: Saskatoon, SK
  • Shift: Monday to Friday | 8:15am – 4:30pm
  • Job type: Temporary | Full-time | 2-3 week contract

Responsibilities:

  • Receive, label, and prepare seed samples for testing.
  • Assist in conducting routine laboratory tests, including purity, germination, and vigor tests.
  • Weigh, count, and record seed samples with accuracy.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of test results and data entry in lab systems.
  • Follow established protocols and ensure compliance with laboratory quality standards.
  • Clean and maintain laboratory equipment, tools, and work areas.
  • Support seed technicians and other lab staff in daily operations.
  • Assist in inventory management of laboratory supplies and seed samples.
  • Adhere to all workplace health and safety guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in agriculture, biology, or a related field is an asset.
  • Previous experience in a laboratory or agricultural environment preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and record keeping.
  • Willingness to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy.
  • Lab-based role with exposure to seeds, dust, and cleaning solutions.
  • Requires sitting or standing for extended periods and performing repetitive hand motions.
  • Must follow all safety and hygiene standards in the laboratory.
  • Must be able to lift 20-30lbs consistently
  • Mu st be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
