Job Title:Contract Duration: May 19, 2025 – August 18, 2025Department: Health & Wellness, HR OperationsHours per Week: 36.25Position OverviewThe Senior Disability Management Consultant plays a key role in supporting the in-house Disability Management (DM) program within the Health & Wellness team. This position is responsible for applying technical expertise in the areas of medical accommodation, short-term and long-term disability (STD/LTD), fitness-for-duty evaluations, and attendance support. The Consultant contributes to policy development, performance metrics, and the implementation of best practices in alignment with corporate strategy, applicable legislation, and collective agreements.Key ResponsibilitiesAssess employee eligibility for Short-Term Disability (STD) benefits in accordance with company policy and applicable collective agreements.Oversee day-to-day case management activities, including communication of decisions to relevant stakeholders.Act as a liaison between company, healthcare providers, and third-party vendors/administrators.Administer the Fit for Duty Program, including medication reviews, ensuring alignment with best practices and legislative requirements.Coordinate and implement return-to-work, modified work, and work hardening plans.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to assess employee absence and accommodation needs.Provide case review and preparation support for claims appeals, grievances, and represent company in litigated matters.Educate internal teams and stakeholders on Health & Wellness policies to promote fair, consistent, and efficient practices.Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to support timely and safe employee reintegration to the workplace.Foster productive partnerships with vendors to ensure high-quality service delivery.Ensure program compliance with legislation including PIPEDA, PHIPA, AODA, and OHRC.Safeguard the confidentiality and integrity of personal and medical information.Monitor workforce trends and compile statistical reports on illness and incidents; provide actionable insights for continuous program improvement.Thanks in advance to all the applicants!
