Salary Range:

The salary range for this position is $81,000 to $112,000. The final offer will be determined based on the successful candidate’s skills, experience, and internal equity considerations. Please note that the offer may fall anywhere within the posted range and is not necessarily at the top end.

Overview:

*This position is currently limited to a 12 month contract however, this may change subject to operational requirements*

This position is responsible for supporting the development, management, and execution of the commercial management workplans and supporting the Commercial & Contracts management team in the administration of Design-Build (Finance) contracts between the Owner and Contractors.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provides support in the day-to-day administration of commercial terms of contracts between the Owner and Design Build Finance (DBF) Contractor.
  • Receives and reviews project information (e.g., submissions and correspondence) to monitor, assess, and recommend issue management strategies to Commercial & Contracts management team or TICorp senior staff, as appropriate.
  • Develops and maintains of commercial trackers (disputes, claims, changes, payments) and commercial sections of project’s SharePoint site.
  • Develops commercial processes and associated workplans.
  • Provides field verification of all progress, including drawings and work methods with qualitative and quantitative analytics to support payment processes.
  • Drafts straightforward contractual correspondence and internal commercial communications (briefing notes, presentations).
  • Drafts contractual correspondence as directed for review by senior Commercial & Contracts team.
  • Prepares qualitative and quantitative analytics to support the team in claims and disputes.
  • Supports the administration of complex claims.
  • Analyses changes to support evaluation and negotiations.
  • Analyses and reports on commercial implications within contracts to the Commercial & Contracts management team or TICorp senior staff, as appropriate.
  • Monitors and reports on document control functions related to contractual compliance.
  • Facilitates and attends regular meetings to track and report on project activities.
  • Participates in the coordination of commercial lessons learned from projects for continuous improvement and contracts development.
  • Supports junior commercial employees and project members as necessary to develop the Commercial & Contracts discipline.
  • Attends and represents the Commercial & Contracts team as appropriate in assigned design/construction meetings

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, civil engineering or construction management, and 5 years of progressive experience in the design, construction or contract administration of infrastructure projects, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience with Provincial Design-Build (Finance) contracts within the Transportation / Infrastructure Sector would be considered an asset..
  • Strong relationship, communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of or exposure to construction estimating, contractual, commercial, and financial functions on infrastructure projects.
  • Interest in and aptitude for negotiating contracts, claims, and changes.
  • Ability to liaise/co-ordinate internal disciplines (including Commercial & Contracts, Project Controls, Finance, Estimating, Scheduling, and Construction) and external experts.
  • Experienced in developing and implementing commercial processes.
  • Strong relationship management, communication, facilitation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Claims management/dispute resolution experience on major projects.
  • Knowledge and experience in change management and claim evaluations.
  • Experience in coordinating and drafting of project correspondence.
