Our client, a leading organization in the technology sector, is seeking a Senior Database Developer to join their team. As a Senior Database Developer, you will be part of the Development team supporting database architecture and cloud-based solutions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and excellent collaboration abilities, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Senior Database Developer

Location: Remote or Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada

Pay Range: Compensation is offered at an hourly rate between $85 and $95 CAD, based on experience and skills.

What’s the Job?

  • Design, implement, and maintain MySQL Aurora databases within AWS cloud environments.
  • Manage and optimize AWS RDS instances to ensure security, scalability, and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate with development teams to create efficient data models and optimize queries.
  • Work with EKS (Kubernetes) for database deployment and orchestration tasks.
  • Monitor database performance using tools like Datadog and AWS monitoring services, resolving bottlenecks proactively.

What’s Needed?

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience with MySQL database architecture and development.
  • 3+ years of experience working with AWS RDS and Aurora.
  • 2+ years of experience with MongoDB database design and optimization.
  • 1+ year of experience with EKS, GitHub, and Datadog for deployment and monitoring.
  • Proven ability to work as a Development DBA in fast-paced environments, with strong troubleshooting skills.
