We’re hiring a full-time Senior Designer for a one-year contract on our Design & Copywriting team in TELUS Studios – TELUS’ own in-house creative production team.

Studios is made up of Design & Copywriting, Video Production, Video Post-Production, and Project Management teams. We partner with various TELUS teams across the business and around the globe to conceptualize, create, pitch, and deliver content for both internal and external audiences.

You are an experienced designer well-versed in digital and print design. You know how to internalize a brand book quickly and start producing high-quality content in short order. You understand the importance of established brand elements and you know when and where to push the art to innovate and express interesting ideas within that design system.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for designing content for TELUS and a dozen other owned-brands; delivering graphic content for a wide variety of mediums, from visualization to client presentation and final delivery. To be successful, you’ll have a solid and opinionated aesthetic, the creative skills to deliver on it, a fantastic and flexible manner with clients, and the discipline to deliver content quickly.

Reporting to the Manager, TELUS Studios: Design & Copywriting, you will be part of a nimble team of professionals who are restless in their search for new ways to engage audiences. Responsibilities:

• Lead the creation of graphic assets from ideation to delivery

• Push the boundaries for what is possible using different formats

• Articulate design decisions and rationale to stakeholders at all levels

• Manage creative assets and ensure they are archived and up to date

• Keep on top of design trends, and share your knowledge and learnings with others

• Work independently as well as collaboratively while taking direction from others

Required skills & abilities:

• Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign

• Relevant experience producing creative for ad campaigns, social media campaigns, promotions, events, whitepapers/reports, sales tools and point of purchase material

• Demonstrated ability to think quickly and creatively without compromising on quality – must thrive in bursts of intense focused work

• Understanding of design principles and the application of brand guidelines

• Exceptional eye for aesthetics and typography

• Strong attention to detail as well as written and verbal communication skills

• Fluency in French an asset

• Bonus skills: UX, UI, motion graphic, app design all considered assets

Required Experience:

• 5+ years industry experience

• A diploma or degree in graphic design or equivalent

• A current online portfolio that demonstrates strong aesthetics and design principles

• Agency experience an asset

Compensation range

72,000-120,000
