About the Company

Our client is a Toronto-based, full-service interior design company providing integrated solutions across interior design, hard finishes, soft furnishings, and project execution. The firm serves residential and light commercial clients and manages projects from concept through completion.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Mid to Senior-level Interior Designer to join the design team in Toronto. This role is responsible for leading and supporting interior design projects across concept development, design documentation, material selection, and coordination through construction and installation.

The ideal candidate has strong design fundamentals, hands-on project experience, and the ability to work closely with internal teams, suppliers, and clients in a fast-paced, execution-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop interior design concepts, space planning, and design narratives aligned with client needs and project budgets
  • Prepare design presentations, mood boards, material palettes, and 3D visuals as required
  • Produce detailed design drawings and documentation for both soft and hard finishes (flooring, millwork, lighting, furniture, fabrics, etc.)
  • Coordinate with project managers, contractors, suppliers, and vendors throughout the project lifecycle
  • Participate in client meetings, site visits, and design reviews
  • Support procurement, installation, and final styling to ensure design intent is delivered
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and quality standards

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Interior Design or a related field
  • 4–8+ years of professional interior design experience (residential and/or commercial)
  • Strong understanding of both soft furnishings and hard finishes
  • Proficiency in design and documentation tools such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite (or equivalent)
  • Solid knowledge of local building practices, materials, and vendors in the Toronto market
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team

Preferred / Nice to Have

  • Experience working with full-service or design-build firms
  • Client-facing experience and ability to manage stakeholder expectations
  • Mandarin or Cantonese language skills are a strong plus

Compensation & Benefits

  • Total compensation: approximately CAD 100,000 ±, depending on experience and level
