If you enjoy hands-on technical work and ensuring systems run smoothly behind the scenes, this role may be a great fit. We’re looking for an IT professional who can help maintain a secure, reliable, and efficient internal technology environment. The position is highly technical, with a strong emphasis on infrastructure, cybersecurity, and day-to-day IT operations. You’ll also act as a resource and mentor to a small IT team—supporting, guiding, and sharing expertise as the environment evolves.
This is an onsite position so only candidates in the Edmonton area will be considered.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute infrastructure and security initiatives from planning through implementation.
  • Maintain, configure, and deploy systems, networks, hardware, and software.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot servers, local and cloud environments, and security tools to ensure strong performance and uptime.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex technical issues, resolving them efficiently.
  • Oversee internal network operations, including routing, switching, firewalls, and backups.
  • Document systems, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
  • Manage updates, patches, and upgrades while limiting business disruption.
  • Support integration and maintenance of cloud-based infrastructure to enhance scalability and resilience.
  • Apply security best practices and support compliance-driven processes.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to one or two team members, helping create a collaborative, high-performing IT environment.

  • Bring strong knowledge of common enterprise productivity platforms and identity management tools such as Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Active Directory, and related ecosystems..
  • Have experience maintaining secure networks, virtualized systems, and internal infrastructure.
  • Stay calm under pressure and think proactively when diagnosing complex issues.
  • Value documentation and clear processes.
  • Are curious, open to learning, and interested in emerging technologies—including AI tools.
  • Collaborate naturally and support colleagues across departments.
  • Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

And you have:

  • 5–8 years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure, security, and system administration.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 tools, especially SharePoint and Active Directory.
  • Experience working with administration and security tools such as Microsoft 365, Active Directory, SharePoint, N-Central, Fortinet, and Sentinel One – or equivalent platforms – used for IT system administration and security management.
  • Hands-on experience with networks, servers, routing, switching, firewalls, and backup technologies.
  • Background in documentation, system audits, and change management.
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field is an asset.

And especially if you:

  • Experience supporting internal security programs or audits.
  • Knowledge of remote desktop tools and the ability to recommend improvements.
  • Experience leading cybersecurity awareness or training initiatives.
  • Industry certifications related to infrastructure, security, or administration.
