About the Role
As a Senior Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence across production, fulfillment, and cross-functional teams. Reporting to the VP of Operations, you will oversee complex workflows, lead process improvement initiatives, and ensure seamless collaboration between engineering, production, service, and shared services.
This position combines strategic leadership with hands-on problem-solving, requiring strong business acumen, people development skills, and the ability to manage change in a dynamic environment. You will be responsible for optimizing operational performance, supporting large-scale projects, and contributing to organizational growth through data-driven decisions and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Production and Fulfillment
- Support design and ongoing implementation of production and fulfillment workflows, including manufacturing, box sales, project management, and engineering.
- Assist supervisors in resolving bottlenecks, improving throughput, and increasing inventory accuracy.
- Support large projects directly, ensuring timeline adherence and customer satisfaction.
Cross-Functional Process Improvement and Collaboration
- Analyze operational data to identify inefficiencies, recurring issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Work with internal software, data, and ERP teams to enhance system workflows, reporting, and automation.
- Contribute to standard operating procedures across branches and departments.
- Lead or support process-improvement projects with measurable outcomes.
- Foster alignment between Engineering, Production, Fulfillment Service, and Rentals.
- Work effectively with Shared Services (IT, Software Development, Finance, and HR).
People Leadership and Development
- Provide coaching and support to technicians, support staff, managers, and supervisors as assigned through one-on-one meetings and regular appraisals
- Assist in succession planning and leadership development within operational teams
- Reinforce accountability, communication, and performance expectations.
Strategic Planning
- Conduct detailed market and competitor analysis to understand client needs, competitive gaps, and growth opportunities.
- Develop go-to-market strategies for electro-mechanical and electrical products.
- Conduct market segmentation and positioning specific to North American markets.
- Identify and pursue high-value opportunities that align with the company’s capabilities, market position, and revenue goals.
- Drive organizational change to adapt to industry trends, including digitization and sustainability initiatives.
- Use OKRs to develop, monitor and deliver on annual plans.

Business and Financial Acumen
- P&L Management – Oversee fulfillment P&Ls, ensuring ROI on initiatives.
- Analyze financial data to guide decisions.
- Develop pricing models based on competitive and value-based pricing approaches in conjunction with sales, estimating, and engineering.
- Tailor pricing strategies to diverse market dynamics and geographies.
Customer and Vendor Relations
- Support engagement with major customers, ensuring consistent service quality and timely communication.
- Participate in subcontractor management and evaluation.
- Support procurement and inventory activities to optimize stock levels, minimize costs, and build strong vendor partnerships.
Compliance, Safety & Quality
- Contribute to ensuring compliance with OEM requirements, internal standards, and regulatory frameworks.
- Support incident or quality investigations and corrective-action processes.
- Promote safety culture and adherence to operational best practices.
- Ensure adherence to USA and Canada trade laws, tariffs, and regulations.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in operations, service management, production/fulfillment management, or technical field-service environments.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and complex workflows.
- Background in power generation, industrial equipment, utilities, telecom, or similar technical sectors is an asset but not required.
