<p>We are currently hiring for our client for a contract role:</p><p><br></p><p>Role: Senior Power Electronics Engineer – AC/AC Converter Development</p><p>Location: Saint-Laurent (Montréal)</p><p>Duration: 6 month contract</p><p><br></p><p>Position Summary:</p><p>We are seeking an experienced Power Electronics Engineer to lead the development of next-generation AC/DC-DC/AC power conversion systems. The role involves all phases of product development from concept through production release, focusing on high-efficiency, high-reliability power converter solutions.</p><p><br></p><p>Key Responsibilities:</p><p>Design and develop advanced AC/DC-DC/AC power conversion topologies and control strategies</p><p>Create detailed circuit designs including power stage, gate drivers, and control circuits</p><p>Perform comprehensive circuit analysis and simulation using specialized software tools</p><p>Develop and implement digital control algorithms for power conversion systems</p><p>Design and execute validation tests for prototype systems</p><p>Optimize designs for efficiency, thermal performance, and EMI compliance</p><p>Create technical documentation including design specifications and test procedures</p><p>Collaborate with mechanical engineers for thermal and packaging solutions</p><p>Guide PCB layout and review designs for manufacturing</p><p>Troubleshoot complex system-level issues during development</p><p>Ensure designs meet safety standards and regulatory requirements</p><p><br></p><p>Required Qualifications:</p><p>PhD in Electrical Engineering with focus on Power Electronics</p><p>7+ years industry experience in power electronics design</p><p>Extensive knowledge of power converter topologies and control theory</p><p>Proficiency in circuit simulation software (Matlab/Simulink)</p><p>Experience with digital control implementation using MCU</p><p>Strong understanding of magnetic component design</p><p>Familiarity with thermal management and EMI/EMC considerations</p><p>Knowledge of relevant safety standards (UL, IEC, etc.)</p><p><br></p><p>Technical Expertise:</p><p>Power semiconductor devices (IGBTs, MOSFETs, SiC)</p><p>Digital control systems and power electronics modeling</p><p>PCB design considerations for high-power applications</p><p>EMI/EMC mitigation techniques</p><p>Thermal management and cooling system design</p><p>Control firmware development</p><p>Power quality and grid interface requirements</p><p><br></p><p>Key Competencies:</p><p>Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities</p><p>Excellent project management skills</p><p>Ability to lead technical discussions and present complex concepts</p><p>Strong documentation and communication skills</p><p>Detail-oriented with focus on quality and reliability</p><p><br></p><p>Laboratory Requirements:</p><p>Ability to work safely with high-voltage systems</p><p>Experience with power electronics test equipment</p><p>Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols</p><p>Capability to perform detailed measurements and analysis</p>
