Description

TEEMA is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead a diverse portfolio of technology initiatives across an organization. This role will be responsible for managing projects that span application implementations and customizations, IT infrastructure upgrades, and process improvement initiatives, while also contributing to the continuous improvement of PMO standards and practices.

The successful candidate will bring a strong grounding in PMI methodologies, demonstrate disciplined project delivery, and be comfortable working in a complex, stakeholder-driven public-sector environment.

  • Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, lead, and deliver IT projects across multiple domains, including:
  • Enterprise and departmental application implementations and enhancements
  • IT infrastructure implementations, upgrades, and lifecycle replacements
  • Process improvement and optimization initiatives
  • Apply PMI / PMP best practices across all phases of the project lifecycle, from initiation through closeout.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, risk registers, and status reports.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams, including IT staff, business stakeholders, vendors, and external partners.
  • Ensure projects align with the organization’s strategic priorities, governance requirements, and technology standards.
  • Proactively identify, manage, and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Manage change requests and scope adjustments using established change control processes.
  • Facilitate effective communication and stakeholder engagement at all levels of the organization.
  • Contribute to the ongoing maturity and continuous improvement of the PMO, including:
  • Refining project management standards, templates, and tools
  • Supporting consistent adoption of best practices across IT projects
  • Sharing lessons learned and promoting continuous improvement
  • Support knowledge transfer, documentation, and operational readiness at project close.

  • Required Qualifications & ExperiencePMP certification (required) with a strong foundation in PMI methodologies and principles.
  • 5+ years of experience managing IT projects in a structured, enterprise environment.
  • Proven experience delivering a mix of:
  • Application implementation and customization projects
  • IT infrastructure projects (networks, servers, cloud, security, or related systems)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strong understanding of project governance, risk management, and change control.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team-based environment.
  • Experience in a public-sector or post-secondary environment is an asset.
