Senior Project Manager – Power Delivery (Ontario)
About the Opportunity:
A leading Canadian utility infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee complex power delivery projects, including transmission line, substation, and battery energy storage (BESS) construction.
This is a dynamic leadership role ideal for a project management professional with a strong understanding of utility-scale infrastructure and a proven ability to drive results across safety, quality, cost, and schedule.
What You’ll Do:
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, engineering partners, and field operations.
- Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Manage subcontractors and suppliers to ensure performance, safety, and quality compliance.
- Lead cross-functional project teams, fostering accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence.
- Oversee project financials including forecasting, reporting, and profitability tracking.
- Support all phases of construction — from pre-construction and procurement through commissioning and closeout.
- Administer contracts, change orders, RFIs, and project documentation in line with company and client standards.
- Promote a strong safety culture and adherence to environmental and regulatory requirements.
- Represent the company at client meetings, progress reviews, and site visits.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of project management experience in power delivery, substation, transmission, or BESS projects.
- Proven ability to manage both self-perform and subcontracted scopes on utility-scale projects.
- Strong understanding of project controls, scheduling (MS Project or Primavera P6), cost management, and risk analysis.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and client management skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office and experience using Procore, HCSS, or similar platforms.
- PMP certification or equivalent professional training is an asset.
- Willingness to travel to project sites across Ontario as required.
