Solution Architect

Client is a Toronto-based IT consulting boutique that strives for excellence in customer service and delivery in the financial services and fintech industry.

They focus on technology advisory services, application development, cloud computing, integration solutions, and enterprise big data and analytics.

With a team of highly knowledgeable business and technical experts, we provide strategic, mission-critical solutions to our clients.

We are looking for Solutions Architects with experience and expertise in designing and implementing complex systems and solutions. You will be responsible for providing leadership, designing, and implementing enterprise-level systems and solutions for our Financial Services clients in the Greater Toronto Area.

Company location: Downtown Toronto

Work environment: Hybrid (3 days in office/week)

Role: Permanent / Full-Time

Salary: Market rate + benefits and performance bonus

Responsibilities

  1. Lead strategy and transformation, migration roadmap based on client needs and industry trends.
  2. Facilitate technical solution discussions with platform architects, technology teams, developers, and business stakeholders.
  3. Produce effort estimates, define scope, deliverables, and timelines.
  4. Embrace CI/CD and Agile practices in client engagements.
  5. Lead, mentor, and coach the technical team on client projects.
  6. Develop and promote best practices and intellectual property.
  7. Maintain close relationships with clients.
  8. Adapt to dynamic work environments, prioritize changing client needs, and deliver successful results.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
  2. Minimum 10 years of development/architecture experience.
  3. At least 5 years of experience designing and architecting scalable, secure enterprise systems using Java and/or Microsoft Technologies.
  4. Strong knowledge in technologies such as Angular/React, Java, C#, .NET, JavaScript, REST APIs, JSON, XML, SOAP, SQL, and cloud platforms like AWS/Azure.
  5. Experience with web development and deployment in cloud environments.
  6. Understanding of API design and performance optimization.
  7. Experience with OpenShift and Kubernetes.
  8. Strong client-facing skills to articulate complex solutions.
  9. Research skills to create roadmaps, review solutions, and provide recommendations.
  10. Experience with CI/CD, DevOps pipelines, and Agile practices.
  11. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  12. Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture frameworks (Zachman, TOGAF).
  13. Cloud Architect certifications such as AWS Solution Architect (Associate or Professional).
  14. Ability to work independently and in team environments.

Preference for candidates with AWS, GCP, or AML/Fraud expertise.
