Airswift is working with one of our major clients in the Oil & Gas industry to find a Sourcing Specialist IV to join their team in Calgary or Edmonton. This is a 1-year contract with the possibility of extension.
Overview
The role involves overseeing Technology and Information Services (TIS) support by ensuring that category goals and objectives are effectively translated into strategies aligned with both the short- and long-term objectives of the stakeholder group and the broader enterprise. It includes developing, implementing, and managing TIS category strategies that mitigate risk and deliver competitive advantage for the company, particularly in relation to high-spend suppliers. Additionally, the position is accountable for ongoing supplier relationship management (SRM) for priority agreements and relationships with TIS suppliers.
Must-haves:
• University degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering or related field
• A minimum of 5 – 8 years of progressively responsible and related sourcing experience in the TIS Category, specifically Software, Hardware and TIS services.
• Superior communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and presentation skills, with strong influencing and persuasive talents
• Experience negotiating substantially large Software, Hardware and TIS service agreements and managing sourcing initiatives.
• Ability to monitor and manage supplier relationships and performance with minimal supervision
Nice-to-haves:
• A postgraduate qualification or MBA
• Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) / Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) designation or equivalent is an asset
Specific Accountabilities
Ensure assigned Technology and Information Services (TIS) category is procured in a manner which mitigates risk and provides the highest overall total value to the company through:
• Development and implementation of Technology and Information Services (TIS) category strategies:
– Manage cross-functional teams to build comprehensive category strategies utilizing market intelligence, demand management, sustainability, supplier diversity and total cost of ownership, with follow through metrics as required to assure performance, supply continuity and manage risk.
– Execute sourcing strategies, from proposal development and solicitation to contract negotiation, to recommending solutions and contract execution.
– Drive contract utilization with effective implementation plans, metrics and reporting.
• Internal Stakeholder Management:
– Develop and maintain a network of stakeholders to gain input into demand planning and forecasting, assist in strategy development, advocate the use of the negotiated contracts and influence strategy implementation.
• Market Intelligence (MI) & Cost Modelling and Sourcing:
– with assistance from the Analyst, Category Management, maintain company-wide demand profiles and external supply and demand MI information;
– interpret MI to drive category strategies and provide direction to stakeholders (i.e. raising changes in market conditions which could have an impact to cost or schedule);
– understand the marketplace for assigned category(ies), including industry structure and new and non-traditional suppliers;
– with assistance from the Analyst, Category Management, build cost models, identifying value and cost drivers, to drive for better understanding of costs and results during supplier negotiations.
• Supplier Relationship Management (SRM):
– manage SRM activities through the relationship lifecycle including segmentation, governance, performance management, value engineering, etc.;
– manage the supplier base, develop new suppliers and improve and strengthen current relationships;
– support supplier discussions related to negotiations or issues pertaining to the contract terms;
– partner with suppliers to conduct cost assessments with the goal of reducing costs and identifying improvements.
Scope/Dimensions
• Responsible for optimizing and leveraging category management processes, policies and tools with the potential for significant corporate financial impact (i.e. cost savings):
• Each role oversees a category that together accounts for most of the company’s approximately $1.6 billion in annual sourceable spend (Category Management).
• Supports the TIS client group but also various areas of the business across the enterprise.
• Develop and implement supply chain strategies throughout the M&A lifecycle to drive cost savings, efficiency, and business continuity.
• Partner with IT teams to address integration challenges, such as migrating legacy systems and ensuring data integrity and accuracy during migration
