Job Title: Seasonal Tax Expert

Location: Remote (Anywhere in Canada)

Contract Duration: 4 Months

Schedule: Part-Time (Approx. 15–20 hours per week, flexible)

Training: 10 days of paid training

Language: English only

Hours of Operation: 9:00 AM – 12:00 AM ET (you can select your working hours within this window)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert tax advice to clients on personal tax matters, including self-employment, rental income, investments, and foreign income.
  • Review and support personal tax filings using professional tax software.
  • Communicate with clients via video and chat in a professional, clear, and friendly manner.
  • Research and explain tax concepts using official CRA resources.
  • Accurately document client interactions and maintain data confidentiality.
  • Manage your schedule using the scheduling tool, hours are available based on demand, on a first-come, first-served basis.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of professional, paid experience preparing Canadian personal tax returns.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian tax laws and credits.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Experience preparing Québec (TP1) tax returns is an asset.
  • Experience with professional tax software and complex filings (self-employment, T1135, foreign income, etc.).
  • Must reside and work within Canada (equipment cannot be accessed from outside the country).
  • CRA RepID (Representative Identifier) required upon onboarding.
  • Flexible availability (minimum 15–20 hours per week; more hours may become available closer to the filing deadline).
