Position: UAT Testing Manager – LOS Implementation

Location: Canada (Remote)

Duration: Contract

Summary:

The UAT Testing Manager will lead and manage all User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities for the implementation of the new Loan Origination System (LOS). This role is critical in ensuring the new platform and associated digital lending channels meet all business, functional, compliance requirements prior to production deployment. A strong background in financial services, LOS platforms (preferably Empower), and leading UAT in an agile or iterative environment is essential.

Responsibilities:

1. UAT Strategy and Planning

  • Develop and Execute UAT Strategy: Design and manage a comprehensive UAT plan, strategy, and schedule for the LOS implementation across all relevant loan products (e.g., mortgage, consumer, commercial).
  • Scope Definition: Define the UAT scope, entry/exit criteria, resource requirements (business users/SMEs), and defect management processes.
  • Test Case Development: Oversee the creation and review of detailed, end-to-end UAT test scenarios and test cases that validate business requirements, regulatory compliance (e.g., TRID, HMDA), and critical business workflows within Empower.
  • Test Data Management: Coordinate the sourcing and preparation of realistic, anonymized test data in the UAT environment.

2. Execution, Coordination, and Defect Management

  • Manage UAT Execution: Orchestrate and facilitate the daily execution of UAT activities, ensuring business users are effectively engaged and following the plan.
  • Defect Triage and Reporting: Own the entire defect lifecycle. Lead daily defect triage meetings with Business, Development, and Vendor (Empower) teams to prioritize, assign, track resolution, and manage retesting efforts.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Provide clear, frequent, and concise status reporting to senior management and project stakeholders on UAT progress, key risks, defect metrics, and go/no-go readiness.
  • Go-Live Readiness: Obtain formal UAT sign-off from all relevant business owners, confirming the system is fit for purpose and ready for production deployment.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

Experience

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Software Quality Assurance and Testing, with a minimum of 3 years in a Test Lead or UAT Manager role.
  • Mandatory Experience: Proven track record of successfully leading UAT for a Loan Origination System (LOS) implementation in a banking or financial services environment.
  • LOS Platform Knowledge: Direct experience with Empower LOS (Black Knight) is highly preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Expertise with industry-standard Test Management and Defect Tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps, ALM/Quality Center).
  • Ability to read, interpret, and validate technical and business requirements against executed test results.
  • Familiarity with test automation concepts and how they integrate into UAT.
