<p>Perseus Group is looking for a senior to intermediate WordPress web developer to own the ongoing maintenance, security, and optimization of our primary website. This is a long-term contract role requiring 15–20 hours per month, with flexibility for project-based spikesfocused on maintaining a mature WordPress codebase that is stable, secure, and evolving.</p><p><br></p><p><b>What you’ll do</b></p><ul><li>Own ongoing maintenance of our WordPress website, including updates, fixes, and improvements</li><li>Execute cosmetic and structural site changes while protecting the integrity of the existing codebase</li><li>Regularly evaluate WordPress plugins, assess vulnerabilities, and apply patches or replacements as needed</li><li>Support and extend a multilingual website, including adding new languages with proper SEO structure and localization best practices</li><li>Ensure the site is optimized for organic search, including traditional SEO foundations and emerging AI-driven search considerations</li><li>Proactively flag risks, performance issues, or technical debt and recommend practical solutions</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>What we’re looking for</b></p><ul><li>Senior or strong intermediate WordPress developer with hands-on experience maintaining production websites</li><li>Deep understanding of WordPress core, themes, plugins, and custom development</li><li>Strong grasp of website security, vulnerability management, and performance optimization</li><li>Experience working with multilingual WordPress setups and SEO implications across languages</li><li>Solid SEO knowledge, including technical SEO, structured data, and AI-influenced search visibility</li><li>Comfortable collaborating with hosting providers and internal stakeholders</li><li>Clear communicator who works independently and flags issues early</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Contract details</b></p><ul><li>Rate: up to $75 CAD per hour</li><li>Time commitment: ~15–20 hours per month, with flexibility for project-based spikes</li><li>Location: Remote</li><li>Eligibility: Based in North America</li><li>Availability: Must be available during EST working hours</li></ul><p></p>
