Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Full-Time

Overview

Our client, a publicly traded, high-growth company in the clean-tech sector is seeking a full-time 

Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join the executive leadership team. This is a great opportunity 

for an experienced financial leader to help scale a dynamic, entrepreneurial organization with 

significant growth potential.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and is ready to build and 

lead a high-performing finance function. You bring a strategic mindset, a hands-on approach, and a 

passion for executing with excellence.

As CFO, you will work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to lead all financial 

strategy and operations across the business. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s 

future as it scales rapidly.

Position Summary

We’re looking for a results-driven, collaborative leader who is energized by challenge and growth. 

You’ll wear many hats and be deeply involved in building the systems, processes, and team needed to 

scale.

The successful candidate will be entrepreneurial and execution-focused, with deep experience in 

capital markets, corporate finance, and regulatory compliance. This individual must be comfortable 

rolling up their sleeves in a hands-on environment while providing strategic leadership at the 

executive and board level.

The CFO will oversee all finance functions, including FP&A, accounting, treasury, tax, audit, and 

public reporting. The HR function will also report into this role. You will be a trusted partner to 

the CEO, interface with the Board of Directors, and play a lead role in raising capital and 

managing investor relations.

This position is expected to be mainly an in-office role but allows for a hybrid work model.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of the company’s business plan and annual budget, working closely with the 

CEO and leadership team

• Own all financial, accounting, audit, and payroll operations, including quarterly and annual 

public reporting

• Build and maintain robust internal controls, financial systems, and operational 

processes

• Ensure full compliance with tax, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements (including 

IFRS)

• Drive the company’s capital strategy in collaboration with the CEO, including:

o Equity and institutional fundraising

o M&A and strategic partnership evaluation

o Non-dilutive financing opportunities

o Represent the company in investor presentations and communications to a wide audience – from 

angel investors to VCs and investment banks

• Manage HR and other shared service functions

Who You Are

• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic 

environment

• Strategic yet hands-on – you’re equally comfortable in the boardroom and in the 

spreadsheets

• Practical and resourceful, with a bias toward action and outcomes

• Collaborative and team-oriented, with excellent communication skills and executive 

presence

• Passionate about clean technology, innovation, and scaling impact-driven businesses

Qualifications

• CPA designation required, undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. MBA 

is a strong asset

• 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience – including full ownership of 

accounting, finance, and treasury functions

• Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing finance teams

• Significant experience in capital raising (equity and/or debt), investor relations, and public 

company compliance

• Previous experience in a high-growth or entrepreneurial environment – public company experience 

strongly preferred
