Description
Our client is seeking a highly organized, technically adept Infrastructure/Network Project Manager to lead and coordinate IT infrastructure projects across a complex environment. This individual will bring structure to a fast-moving, unstructured setting—driving progress on critical projects involving networking, cloud integration, and enterprise infrastructure. The ideal candidate is a confident communicator who can manage multiple stakeholders, navigate internal politics, and deliver results. This is a contract role, 2 days a week in Hamilton, Ontario.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead end-to-end delivery of infrastructure and networking projects across municipal departments.
• Define scope, timelines, milestones, and deliverables, working closely with IT and business leaders.
• Develop detailed project plans, RAID logs, RACI matrices, and executive dashboards.
• Coordinate across infrastructure, networking, cloud, and security teams.
• Manage and report on projects involving data centres, routing/switching, cloud migration, and Microsoft cloud technologies (e.g., Office 365, Azure, Intune).
• Drive collaboration with vendors and internal teams to ensure quality and alignment with business objectives.
• Track risks, issues, dependencies, and budgets across concurrent projects.
• Provide clear, centralized project updates to stakeholders, including leadership and steering committees.
Technical Environment Includes:
• Azure IaaS/SaaS, Office 365, Intune
• Cisco & Palo Alto (networking & firewalls)
• Virtualized environments (VMware/Hyper-V)
• On-prem and hybrid data centres
• SaaS applications and cloud migration efforts
Required Qualifications:
• 10+ years of IT project management experience with a focus on infrastructure and networking.
• Strong experience managing projects in hybrid environments (cloud + on-prem).
• Knowledge of Microsoft technologies including Azure, Intune, Office 365.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills; ability to simplify complexity.
• Experience working in municipal/public sector environments (preferred).
• PMP certification is an asset.
• Comfortable leading in unstructured environments and navigating internal politics.
