MEREHR is proud to partner with a leading electronics manufacturer to recruit a Director of Quality to join their executive leadership team in Markham, ON. This full-time, on-site position offers an exciting opportunity to lead the organization’s quality strategy, drive operational excellence, and ensure adherence to the highest industry and regulatory standards.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the executive leadership team, the Director of Quality will develop and execute a comprehensive quality strategy that aligns with the organization’s long-term vision and operational goals. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the quality function, maintaining compliance with industry certifications, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and fostering a culture of quality excellence throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Lead the development and execution of quality strategies and governance frameworks.
  • Integrate quality initiatives into overall business strategy.
  • Identify potential quality risks and create mitigation plans.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Restructure and enhance efficiency within the quality department.

Documentation Control

  • Maintain revision control for all quality system documentation.
  • Keep document history logs, controlled forms, and applicable standards up to date.

Management Representation

  • Act as the main representative during ISO and AS registration/assessment audits.
  • Resolve non-conformances and implement action plans.
  • Attend customer audits and generate required reports.

General QA

  • Conduct supplier surveillance audits and generate audit reports.
  • Maintain and implement multiple quality management systems, including ISO 9001, 13485, 16949, 27001, and AS 9100.
  • Manage FDA listings and generate inspection reports for customers.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Collect, analyze, and report on supplier performance, customer satisfaction, and production data.
  • Follow up on required actions to ensure continuous improvement.

Customer Liaison

  • Serve as QA representative for customer quality audits.
  • Complete customer-issued quality reports and certifications.
  • Address documentation requests related to conflict minerals, counterfeit parts, and REACH programs.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Quality Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive quality leadership experience, preferably in electronics manufacturing.
  • Proven experience with ISO, AS, and FDA quality systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams and influence at the executive level.
