Description
Product Packaging Designer
(Part-Time, Contract)
ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for an experienced Product Packaging Designer to support ongoing and upcoming product launches across our cosmetics and personal care portfolio. This role is highly executional, detail-driven, and deeply embedded in the product development process — from early concepting through final print-ready files.
You’ll own packaging design across primary and secondary formats, collaborate closely with Product, Brand, and external vendors, and be relied on for fast, accurate updates when timelines are tight.
This is an ongoing, part-time partnership with flexible workload, reporting into the VP of Product Development and working closely with our Product Project Manager and Chief of Brand.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To excel in this role, you should have:
- Develop packaging design roadmaps and creative concepts for new product launches, including primary and secondary packaging
- Design and update packaging files across multiple formats, including boxes, jars, bottles, tubes, and custom components
- Create branded sample packaging and adapt existing dielines as needed
- Prepare and upload final, approved artwork to Greenlight, ensuring correct version codes and file accuracy
- Deliver final print-ready files in accordance with production and vendor specifications
- Create mockups and visual representations for internal review, presentations, and approvals
- Produce 3D renders of packaging concepts for digital visualization and internal use
- Maintain a highly organized file system so packaging assets are easy to reference, update, and version
- Reference key documentation to ensure accuracy, including copy spreadsheets, packaging agendas, and Jira tickets
- Attend weekly project check-in meetings with the Product team
- Support urgent packaging updates when needed, typically with a 24-hour turnaround for high-priority changes
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders, printers, and external vendors to ensure smooth execution
