We take a partnership-first approach and believe the way we build is just as important as what we build.</p><p><br></p><p><b>About the Role</b></p><p>The <b>Director of Construction</b> provides strategic and day-to-day leadership across our full construction portfolio spanning our three lines of business. This leadership role, accountable to the owners and shareholders, is at the center of our project ecosystem – supporting the operations managers and their teams by strengthening operational excellence, growing the next generation of leaders and bridging executive vision with on-site execution.</p><p><br></p><p><b>What You’ll Be Responsible ForLeadership & Team Development</b></p><ul><li>Lead, mentor, and develop our Operations Managers and project delivery teams — building strong leadership capacity and succession readiness.</li><li>Reinforce our culture rooted in <b>safety, quality, collaboration, and accountability</b>.</li><li>Establish clear expectations, and performance development plans to help teams do their best work.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Strategic Planning & Portfolio Oversight</b></p><ul><li>Set and communicate strategic direction for our commercial, residential and millwork operations, ensuring alignment to overall company objectives and financial targets.</li><li>Translate executive and shareholder priorities into clear, actionable guidance for our project delivery teams.</li><li>Collaborate with peer directors to streamline cross-functional processes and strengthen execution.</li><li>Lead end-to-end portfolio oversight, from lead capture through project delivery and closeout.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Client, Consultant & Trade Partner Relationships</b></p><ul><li>Build rapport and strengthen key relationships with clients, consultants, and trade partners.</li><li>Represent Made By Pacific in key meetings, negotiations, and high-impact project decisions.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Safety, Quality & Compliance</b></p><ul><li>Champion a “safety-first” operating culture and ensure all sites meet or exceed <b>WorkSafeBC</b> requirements and applicable regulations.</li><li>Ensure consistent QA/QC practices that reduce deficiencies and rework and protect project outcomes.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Financial Stewardship & Risk Management</b></p><ul><li>Review project estimates and budgets, forecasts, schedule implications and cost performance.</li><li>Oversee contract reviews, change management discipline, financial decision-making and risk mitigation strategies across the portfolio.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Resource Planning & Performance Management</b></p><ul><li>Own capacity forecasting across the portfolio; maintain a sharp view of the lead pipeline to ensure stable workflow.</li><li>Implement KPIs and reporting strategy for each line of business to measure performance, profitability, and overall team health.</li><li>Use data to identify trends, correct course quickly, and drive consistent achievement of financial targets.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Technology & Continuous Improvement</b></p><ul><li>Champion practical implementation of systems and tools that improve reporting, job planning, delivery consistency, and client experience.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>What You Bring</b></p><ul><li>10+ years in construction with a consistent record of expanding revenue, improving performance, and scaling teams to deliver complex work successfully.</li><li>Skilled at coaching, succession planning, and building accountable, empowered leaders across the organization.</li><li>Collaborative, communicative leadership style that aligns stakeholders and drives execution across multiple projects and priorities.</li><li>Broad construction background across commercial TI, hospitality, and/or high-end residential (or comparable complex builds).</li><li>Strong operational command of project delivery fundamentals: budgeting, scheduling, contracts, risk, and client expectations.</li><li>Solid working knowledge of local codes, permitting, and regulatory requirements to keep projects compliant and moving.</li><li>Safety and quality-first mindset—sets clear standards and holds the team accountable without compromise.</li><li>Familiarity with Procore and/or similar construction management tools.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Nice to Have</b></p><p>Background working with millwork teams or fabrication workflows.</p><p><br></p><p><b>Why Join Made by Pacific</b></p><ul><li>Help shape construction delivery across a growing, values-driven organization.</li><li>Support a team that believes in building partnership and projects.</li><li>Competitive compensation, benefits, opportunities for continued growth.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Details</b></p><ul><li><b>Job Type:</b> Full-time, Permanent</li><li><b>Schedule:</b> Monday to Friday (8-hour shift)</li><li><b>Language:</b> English required</li></ul>
