Company

A scaled, product-led technology company operating at the intersection of data, AI, and vertical SaaS—focused on transforming how complex, real-world decisions are made through intelligent systems.

The Opportunity

This is a rare chance to define and lead AI strategy at a company entering a pivotal phase of transformation. With strong product-market fit and a growing customer base, the business is investing heavily in AI to power next-generation product experiences—particularly across agentic workflows, decision intelligence, and applied machine learning.

You’ll step into a highly visible, business-critical role—partnering with executive leadership to shape the roadmap, while building and leading a high-impact AI/ML function.

The Role

This is a Director-level position blending strategic leadership with hands-on technical depth. You’ll own the end-to-end AI/ML vision—from defining what to build, to guiding how it’s built, to ensuring it delivers measurable business impact.

You won’t just oversee execution—you’ll help define the problems, shape solutions, and push the boundaries of what AI can unlock for customers.

What You’ll Do

  • Define and lead the company’s AI/ML strategy and roadmap
  • Partner with product and engineering leadership to identify high-impact AI opportunities
  • Drive development of agentic systems, GenAI applications, and ML-powered product features
  • Establish frameworks for evaluating, measuring, and improving model performance
  • Lead and scale a multidisciplinary team (ML, AI, data science)
  • Guide architectural decisions across AI systems and broader platform (e.g. event-driven systems)
  • Translate business problems into production-grade AI solutions
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering a high-performance culture
  • Act as a thought partner to executives and contribute to board-level discussions on AI strategy

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience operating at Director (or near-Director) level within AI/ML or applied AI
  • Strong track record delivering production-grade ML/AI systems—not just prototypes
  • Deep understanding of both:
  • AI/ML science (modeling, evaluation, experimentation)
  • Engineering systems (architecture, scalability, reliability)
  • Experience building or working with agentic systems, GenAI, RAG, or similar modern AI paradigms
  • Ability to define strategy—not just execute against it
  • Strong business acumen—comfortable tying technical work to customer and revenue impact
  • Experience leading and mentoring teams (typically 5–10+)
  • Hands-on mindset—comfortable engaging with code, architecture, and tooling (even if not coding daily)
  • High ownership mentality with a proactive, opinionated approach to problem-solving

Tech Stack

  • Modern ML frameworks and tooling
  • GenAI / LLM ecosystems (RAG, agents, prompt orchestration)
  • Cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure)
  • Event-driven architectures
  • Data pipelines and real-time systems

Why Join?

  • Own and shape AI strategy at a company ready to go “all in” on AI
  • Work on real-world, high-impact problems with paying customers
  • Build agentic, AI-native product experiences—not just internal tools
  • High visibility role with direct influence on company direction
  • Blend of startup energy with established scale
  • Strong leadership buy-in and investment in AI
  • Career-defining opportunity to lead transformation at scale
