Our client, a well-established and growing Canadian industrial & mechanical contractor, is seeking a Project Director to lead a major industrial project in the Lower Mainland. The company has a strong track record delivering construction, maintenance, and shutdown services across oil & gas, mining, pulp & paper, nuclear and infrastructure sectors across Canada. This is a key leadership role for someone who can take full ownership of project execution while driving a strong safety culture and high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the project with full accountability for execution, performance, and delivery
  • Drive and continuously improve HSE culture across the project
  • Lead Project Managers, Superintendents, Engineers, and subcontractors
  • Build alignment and secure buy-in from internal teams, client representatives, and stakeholders
  • Oversee project planning, scheduling, cost control, and risk management
  • Act as the primary point of contact with the client
  • Mentor and develop project teams, driving accountability and performance
  • Ensure all work is executed in compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in industrial construction within oil & gas, refining, or heavy industrial environments
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role on large-scale projects
  • Strong background delivering mechanical, piping, and industrial construction scopes
  • Demonstrated ability to drive HSE excellence and build a strong safety culture
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence teams and stakeholders
  • Strong commercial and operational acumen
