We are seeking a highly driven, passionate, and self-motivated Senior Director with 10+ years of leadership experience in Management Consulting or the Utilities industry, with a strong focus on Smart Meter and Smart Grid solutions.

This role is primarily focused on front-end sales, with responsibility for both selling and delivering Smart Grid and Utilities transformation consulting projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding Smart Meter and Smart Grid consulting services across Canada, contributing to strategic growth while delivering high-impact transformation initiatives for clients.

The individual will lead consulting teams, build strong client relationships, and collaborate across internal business lines to drive successful project delivery and business development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Influence strategy for growing the existing portfolio of Smart Meter and Smart Grid consulting services within the Utilities sector, including development of key offerings
  • Collaborate with internal business lines to establish joint ownership, targets, and execution plans for multi-disciplinary projects
  • Lead the sales and delivery of Smart Grid and Utilities transformation consulting engagements
  • Support marketing and thought leadership activities (e.g., publications, industry contributions)
  • Mentor and develop team members across both sales and delivery functions

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong Utilities industry experience with deep expertise in Smart Metering and Smart Grid domains, particularly Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI)
  • Additional experience in areas such as ADMS, DERMs, Asset Management, and/or GIS is highly desirable
  • Experience working with leading Smart Meter and Grid vendors such as Itron, Landis+Gyr, Sensus, Honeywell, Schneider Electric, Siemens Energy, ABB, ESRI, etc.
  • Proven track record in leading Smart Grid and Utilities strategy and consulting engagements
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong drive to grow business capabilities
  • Experience in developing and leading capability assessments, business cases, use cases, and transformation roadmaps
  • Experience preparing rate case filings and presenting to regulatory bodies
  • Strong understanding of industry trends and current challenges within the Utilities sector
  • Experience with large-scale digital transformation programs (e.g., digital factories, multi-product teams) is preferred
  • Strategic experience in operating model design, market strategy, M&A, or post-merger integration is an asset
  • Strong executive communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate business impact clearly
  • External thought leadership experience (e.g., publications, conferences, industry forums) is a plus
  • Experience managing and leading teams of 7+ professionals
