And they have been left to figure it out alone. Their tools are disjointed and fragmented. Their bank doesn’t understand their business. When they need advice, they can’t afford it or can’t find someone they trust. They pay enterprise pricing for platforms built for a business ten times their size.

They are dealing with rising costs, trade uncertainty with the US, and an economy that has always favoured big business. They have less room for error and no team to absorb the shock.

We are building at one of the most extraordinary moments in technology history. AI is reshaping every industry. Automation is accelerating. And yet, the small business owners we serve are not looking for more software. They are looking for someone who actually understands their business.

The paradox of the AI era is this: the more powerful the tools become, the more people crave real human connection, real relationships, and real accountability. A dashboard can surface an insight. It cannot make a judgment call. An algorithm can recommend a product. It cannot build trust. A chatbot can answer a question. •      Affordable payroll built for small teams who have been overcharged and underserved for decades

•      Working capital advances up to $50,000, approved in as little as 24 hours

The Team Behind It

Huumans was built by operators who have done this before. The founding and leadership team brings direct experience from some of Canada’s most respected small business-centric companies and financial services businesses such as WagePoint, Servus Credit Union, Firma Foreign Exchange, NEXT Canada, TEC Canada, Kraken, ASP Wireless and more!

This is not a team learning how to build a company. This is a team that has been here before, knows the terrain, and is moving with intention and urgency.

What Is The Role

The CPO at Huumans is a builder and executor first. Requirements flow in from the CEO, Revenue & Growth, and Huumans Media who will define the customer experience to deliver, the products to add, and the commercial evolution of the platform. The requirements are known and the CPO’s job is to take them and build. Fast. Agile. Adaptable. Shipped.

Huumans has a structure already in place. The CEO owns the strategic direction. Revenue & Growth knows the market cold and owns user growth, the revenue model, and the customer experience that flows into GTM. Huumans Media owns the content and community engine. Technology defines the scaling architecture and builds the product.

The CPO is not here to diagnose problems or run discovery workshops. The problems are known. The opportunities are identified. What is needed from the CPO is a master builder who can take a clear requirement and prioritize it into a roadmap, turning it into a shipped product and faster than anyone expects and better than anyone imagined.

This is not a role defined by strategy decks and roadmap workshops. The right person lives in the product and is obsessed with building the in product experience and the micro interactions that make an owner feel like the platform was designed specifically for them. The pixel. The flow. The moment something just works.

The CPO also leads technology. They need a command of the technical architecture underpinning the platform and how it is built, how it scales, where the constraints are, and how to push past them.

They do not need to write code, but they need to speak the language fluently but make ensure the platform is engineered to travel.

The current product spans My Solutions, the Marketplace, Pay Staff, Get Capital, My Budget, Benchmark & Compare, Owner Stories, and News with significantly more on the way. Prioritisation is the skill needed most and sequencing is the discipline that the CPO will deploy.

Huumans is scaling fast, with international expansion on the horizon. The CPO will need to build for that scale from day one and build a platform that does not just work in Canada, but travels to markets across the globe.

What You Bring

•      Significant experience as a product builder and/or in product and technology leadership for scaling organizations

•      Must have strong product UI/UX sense for building world class customer experiences

•      Deep experience in one or more Fintech, Small Business Platform, or SaaS expertise and a significant understanding of user activation, retention and churn at a structural level and have built the motions that move those metrics and keep users in app

•      Experience at a marketplace, fintech, or multi sided platform (supply demand dynamics, trust mechanics, and product challenges are your native language)

•      Demonstrated ability to lead lean, high output teams and scale product organisations through growth phases

•      Strong technology instincts and the ability to connect requirements to technology and product decisions

•      Experience working hand in glove with a sales or growth function you know how product and distribution reinforce each other

•      Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward moving fast this is not a role for someone who needs three months to build a strategy deck

•      Bonus: media product, content platform, or community driven engagement experience

•      Bonus: international expansion experience
