The Opportunity
Pioneer Construction Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Coordinator to join our team based in Sudbury, Ontario.
Working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Estimators, clients, subcontractors, and field personnel, the successful candidate will assist in the planning, coordination, administration, and execution of construction projects from tender award through project completion. This role is ideal for an organized and proactive individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and contributing to the successful delivery of complex civil construction, mining, infrastructure, and industrial projects.
Your Day-to-Day
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution activities
- Coordinate project communications between clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams
- Track project schedules, milestones, deliverables, and progress against project objectives
- Assist with contract administration, project documentation, and regulatory compliance requirements
- Prepare, review, and maintain project correspondence, reports, meeting minutes, and submittals
- Coordinate Requests for Information (RFIs), shop drawings, change orders, and project documentation workflows
- Monitor project costs, commitments, purchase orders, invoices, and budget performance
- Assist with quantity tracking, progress reporting, forecasting, and cost control activities
- Support procurement activities including obtaining quotations, issuing purchase orders, and coordinating material deliveries
- Assist with project startup, handover, and closeout documentation
- Conduct quality control reviews of project submissions and documentation
- Participate in site visits, project meetings, and field inspections as required
- Support field operations teams by helping resolve project-related administrative and logistical issues
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders
- Display professionalism toward our company, clients, and business partners
- Work in accordance with all internal, client, and regulated health and safety policies, procedures, and regulations, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Perform other related duties as assigned
You Are a Good Fit If You Have
Required:
- Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field; OR equivalent industry experience
- Valid G class Driver’s License
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail and an ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Considered an Asset:
- Previous experience as a Project Coordinator, Project Administrator, Construction Coordinator, Estimator, or related construction role
- Previous Experience in civil construction, road building, mining, industrial, or infrastructure projects
- Gold Seal Certification, C.Tech, CET, EIT, or P.Eng designation
Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to review drawings, specifications, and tender documents
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Familiarity with public and private sector tendering processes
- Excellent computer proficiency (Microsoft Office 365 platform, Autodesk AutoCAD, Civil3D, Bid2Win Estimating Software)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
- Ability to work independently in remote or active construction environments
- Ability to prioritize tasks and respond to changing operational needs
- Understanding of preventative maintenance practices
- Strong attention to detail to ensure work quality and compliance are being appropriately monitored through inspections and observations
- Strong communication skills with supervisors, coworkers, and clients
- Professional attitude and strong work ethic

The pay range posted reflects base compensation only. Starting pay is based on skills, experience, and qualifications. Benefits and other incentives are offered separately.
