Commercial Property Manager – Bilingual Are you an established, well-rounded, commercial real estate professional seeking a growth opportunity in a values-based organization. Our client CUPE (cupe.ca/scfp.ca), Canada’s largest union with 740,000 members and 68 offices across Canada, is seeking a full-time, permanent Commercial Property Manager for their unique national portfolio consisting of owned and leased assets. The Opportunity This position is ideal for a bilingual, detail-oriented candidate with solid commercial real estate experience and relationship-building skills. While much of this role will be performed on-site in the corporate office, the ideal candidate will also be comfortable promoting the property, collaborating and addressing issues with tenants, and creating synergies with key stakeholders. The Property Manager will be involved in all aspects of the assigned portfolio’s day-to-day operations including operations, leasing, accounting, budgeting and capital planning, rent collection, project and facilities management, always playing a key role in managing important relationships with end users, trades, consultants, team members, etc. From managing service contracts to organizing property inspections and ensuring lease compliance, you will be a key contributor to the successful tightly-knit management team. In addition, you will be responsible for general administrative support and correspondence, portfolio analysis and risk management, updating and maintaining the property records and preparing tenant notices. You will also play a key role in internal and external communication to ensure all property management obligations will be met by the various stakeholders. Keys to Success The ideal candidate will have completed post-secondary education in Real Estate, Finance or Business Administration or a related field and have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in a commercial real estate environment with exposure to physical property operations, accounting, contracts and commercial leases, as well as proven advanced computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and French and a strong customer service orientation are paramount for the success of the position. The successful proponent will thrive on being organized and efficient, working for a union in a unionized setting. The ideal candidate is reliable and resourceful and displays a high level of professionalism at all times and have excellent attention to detail. While most of the work will be performed with standard, somewhat flexible working hours, the position does require some after-hours work. Due to the nature of the role, it is imperative that the candidate have a valid driver’s license (and clean driver’s abstract) valid in Canada and access to reliable transportation.
