<p><p>Salary will be commensurate with experience. </p> <h3>About Us </h3> <p>Western Technology Services (WTS) provides exceptional technology resources and services to keep the Western community connected! Western Technology Services supports students, instructors, and staff at all levels of their university experience, including eLearning, classroom technology, cybersecurity, network infrastructure, technology support, and much more. </p> <h3>Role Overview </h3> <p>WTS is seeking two creative and self‑motivated Communications and Marketing student interns. This role supports the Communications team in enhancing WTS’ social media presence and broader communication initiatives. </p> <h3>Responsibilities </h3> <ul> <li>Support the creation of communications plans and marketing strategies. </li> <li>Design creative content for social media. </li> <li>Monitor social media platforms to keep WTS on trend. </li> <li>Prepare detailed promotional media items, including videos, posters, graphics, and brochures. </li> <li>Support planning and delivery of marketing events. </li> <li>Write articles and other long‑form content. </li> <li>Assist with maintenance and content updates of our websites. </li> </ul> <h3>Qualifications </h3> <ul> <li>Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student (minimum of 3.5 courses) and expected to retain full‑time status for the duration of the appointment. </li> <li>Familiarity with Microsoft Office and social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Bluesky). <ul> <li>Experience using Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite. </li> <li>Experience creating video content. </li> <li>Familiarity with video‑editing software such as Capcut and Instagram Edits. </li> <li>Understanding of communications best practices. </li> </ul> </li> <li>Good understanding of the latest marketing trends and techniques. </li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong presentation abilities. </li> <li>Must have a passion for communications. </li> <li>Outstanding multitasking abilities. </li> <li>Oral communication skills in English are required. </li> </ul> <h3>Developing Skills </h3> <p>You’ll gain experience in social media content creation, social media management, and strategic communications planning. </p> <h3>Western Values Diversity </h3> <p>The University invites applications from all qualified individuals.
