Description

We are seeking a high-caliber Estimator & Project Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in our continued growth. This is a dual-authority position designed for a seasoned professional who can bridge the gap between complex pre-construction analysis and successful project execution.

You will have the unique opportunity to not only manage multi-million dollar institutional and commercial projects but also to lead and contribute to the development of our company’s internal estimating systems. We are looking for a self-starter who thrives in a high-responsibility environment and is ready to take sole ownership of the estimating department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full-Cycle Estimating: Sole responsibility for performing detailed quantity take-offs and cost analysis for multi-discipline commercial and institutional projects.
  • System Development: Lead the design and implementation of a standardized company estimating system to streamline future bidding and procurement.
  • Project Management: Oversee projects from award to completion, ensuring budgets, schedules, and quality standards are strictly maintained.
  • Subcontractor Management: Leverage deep industry knowledge to vet, negotiate with, and manage subcontractors and suppliers across various trades.
  • Site Visits: Travel to various project sites across Alberta and British Columbia for pre-tender meetings and ongoing project oversight.
  • Documentation: Utilize advanced software to manage blueprints, RFIs, and project documentation with high precision.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in commercial or institutional construction within a General Contracting environment.
  • Project Portfolio: Proven track record of managing and estimating multi-million dollar, multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Technical Proficiency: Exceptional skills in Bluebeam (highly preferred) and other takeoff/estimating software.
  • Autonomy: Ability to work independently as the primary estimator while contributing to broader company growth strategies.
  • Communication: Strong negotiation skills and the ability to represent the company professionally during site visits and client meetings.
  • Mobility: Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel for site visits and project requirements.

Why Join Us?

This is a career-defining role for a professional who is tired of being “just another employee.” Here, you will have a direct hand in building the infrastructure of our estimating department. We offer a competitive salary based on experience and the chance to lead high-profile institutional contracts.
