Geotab is seeking a Credit Risk & Recovery Manager who will be responsible for building and managing Geotab’s end‑to‑end commercial credit risk and account recovery program — a critical new function as we scale from thousands to tens of thousands of customers globally. This is a unique opportunity to own both sides of the credit lifecycle: protecting Geotab from risk at onboarding, and driving effective resolution when accounts require escalation.

What Youll Do
Your key responsibility is managing the full commercial credit risk lifecycle. You will evaluate credit limits for new and existing customers on the front end, and lead escalated account recovery, including third‑party collections and legal coordination, on the back end. You will build and enforce credit policies, leverage credit bureau data sources, and serve as the primary contact for Geotab’s third‑party collections agency.

You will work closely with the Accounts Receivable team to define escalation criteria and ensure seamless handoffs, while partnering with Sales, Finance, Legal, and Customer Success to balance risk management with revenue growth priorities. The ideal candidate is analytical, commercially savvy, and can make timely decisions under uncertainty while maintaining strong stakeholder communication skills across a global customer base in North America, Europe, and Australia.

How Youll Make an Impact

Evaluate and approve credit limits for new customers based on financial analysis, credit bureau reporting, payment history, and established risk criteria.

Review, maintain, and adjust credit limits for existing customers as warranted by changes in payment behaviour, financial health, or risk profile.

Develop, implement, and enforce credit policies, procedures, and risk thresholds in alignment with corporate financial objectives and risk tolerances.

Partner with the Accounts Receivable team to define escalation criteria and thresholds, receiving accounts for third‑party or legal action only after standard AR collection efforts have been exhausted.

Serve as the primary internal and external point of contact for third‑party collections agencies, managing agency relationships, account assignment, performance monitoring, and reporting.

Coordinate legal escalations for significantly delinquent or high‑risk accounts, partnering with Geotab’s internal Legal team and external counsel to pursue recovery actions including litigation and settlement.

Assess and recommend accounts for write‑off in accordance with company policy, ensuring appropriate documentation and finance approval.

Collaborate with Sales, Finance, Legal, Accounts Receivable, and Customer Success teams to balance credit risk with revenue growth priorities, providing guidance on deal structuring and credit‑sensitive opportunities.

Prepare and present regular credit risk metrics, portfolio performance reports, and bad debt analysis to Finance leadership.

What Youll Bring To This Role

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered.

5+ years of experience in commercial credit evaluation, credit limit setting, and risk analysis in a B2B environment.

Demonstrated experience managing third‑party collections agencies, including performance oversight and account assignment.

Experience coordinating with legal counsel on debt recovery matters, including litigation, demand letters, and settlements.

Proficiency with ERP systems and accounts receivable management platforms.

Familiarity with credit evaluation tools such as Dun & Bradstreet, Equifax, or equivalent credit bureau platforms.

Certified Credit Executive (CCE) or Credit Business Associate (CBA) designation is an asset but not required.

Experience in a technology or SaaS business environment strongly preferred.

Benefits

Flex working arrangements

Home office reimbursement program

Baby bonus and parental leave top‑up program

Online learning and networking opportunities

Electric vehicle purchase incentive program

Competitive medical and dental benefits

Retirement savings program

Note: The above are offered to full‑time permanent employees only.

How We Work
