Controls & Automation Design Engineer

Industrial Automation & Machine-Build Environments

The Opportunity:

LuxeTech is seeking a Controls & Automation Design Engineer to support upcoming industrial automation and machine-build programs expected to launch through 2026.

This role is ideal for engineers with 3+ years of hands-on experience who have been exposed to real-world automation systems and want to continue developing their technical depth in fast-paced manufacturing environments.

Must Have Requirements:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in electrical controls design within industrial automation or machine-build environments

  • Proven ability to develop complete electrical schematics, including power distribution, motor control, safety circuits, PLC/robot I/O, and panel layouts

  • Hands-on experience debugging and commissioning automation equipment

  • Strong working knowledge of PLC-based control systems and industrial machine operation

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, or Computer Engineering (or equivalent practical experience)

Assets (Nice to Have):

  • Experience with industrial robotics and robotic control systems
  • Integration of third-party or off-the-shelf industrial equipment
  • Electrical and pneumatic system design experience
  • On-site customer support or commissioning experience
  • Familiarity with industrial networking, analog instrumentation, or specialty process equipment
  • Experience working cross-functionally with mechanical and software engineering teams
  • Background in advanced manufacturing, automotive, consumer products, or energy sectors

Work Environment & Travel

  • Project-based automation and machine-build settings
  • Collaboration across multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Occasional travel may be required
