Description

Sourcing Director – Apparel (Merchandising & Operations)

Location: Vancouver (Global sourcing travel required)

Company: PFD Enorsia Canada Corporation

PFD Enorsia Canada Corporation is a Vancouver-based apparel sourcing and trading house representing a vertically integrated global manufacturing platform.

We operate across Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, China, Vietnam, and Central Asia, delivering end-to-end apparel solutions – from development and sourcing to production and delivery – for North American brands and retailers.

We are building a high-performance, execution-focused organization where sourcing, merchandising, and operations are fully integrated.

This is an early-stage build. The first leadership hires will define how the business operates globally.

Role Overview

We are hiring a Sourcing Director to build and lead the company’s global sourcing, merchandising, and operational execution function.

This role has full ownership of the execution engine:

  • Vendor strategy
  • Costing and margin protection
  • Sampling and development
  • Production management
  • Delivery and quality

This is not a coordination role. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for getting orders executed successfully and profitably.

This role is expected to evolve into a COO or Head of Operations role as the business scales.

What You Will Own

1. Global Sourcing Strategy (Primary Accountability)

  • Build and manage sourcing network across:
  • Bangladesh, India, Pakistan
  • China, Vietnam, Central Asia
  • Select factories based on:
  • Cost competitiveness
  • Capability (product/category)
  • Compliance and reliability
  • Continuously optimize country allocation strategy
  • Own and manage PLM and Sourcing Management systems like Centric/WFX

2. Costing & Margin Ownership

  • Develop accurate, scalable costing frameworks
  • Negotiate directly with mills and factories
  • Identify and eliminate margin leakage
  • Ensure pricing supports commercial strategy while protecting profitability

3. Merchandising & Product Lifecycle Execution

  • Own full lifecycle:
  • Tech pack review
  • Sampling and development
  • Fit approvals
  • Pre-production (PP) and TOP approvals
  • Build and enforce TNA (Time & Action) discipline
  • Ensure alignment between:
  • Buyer expectations
  • Factory capabilities
  • Delivery timelines

4. Production & Delivery Management

  • Own execution from order placement to shipment
  • Monitor production progress across vendors
  • Identify risks early and implement recovery plans
  • Ensure on-time, in-full delivery (OTIF)

5. Quality & Compliance Oversight

  • Establish QA processes and checkpoints
  • Implement vendor scorecards and performance tracking
  • Manage claims, quality issues, and corrective actions
  • Ensure compliance across factories and production processes

6. Import & Execution Readiness

  • Ensure all orders are shipment-ready:
  • Documentation
  • Packaging
  • Labelling
  • Compliance
  • Coordinate with commercial and logistics teams to ensure smooth delivery into Canada/USA/EU/Mexico

7. Operating System & Process Build (Critical)

  • Build SOPs across:
  • Costing
  • Sampling
  • Production tracking
  • Vendor management
  • Implement tools for visibility and control (TNA, dashboards, reporting)
  • Create scalable execution processes independent of individuals

8. Team Building & Leadership (Critical)

  • Build sourcing and merchandising team from the ground up
  • Define roles, responsibilities, and reporting structure
  • Train and mentor team members
  • Establish a high-performance execution culture

What Success Looks Like (First 12 Months)

  • Reliable vendor base established across key countries
  • Strong costing discipline with consistent margin realization
  • 90–95% on-time delivery performance
  • High sample approval success rate (reduced iterations)
  • Clear operational processes implemented and followed
  • Scalable sourcing and merchandising team structure in place

Candidate Profile

  • Someone who is:
  • Detail-oriented and process-driven
  • Comfortable working across multiple countries and time zones
  • Able to operate in a fast-moving, unstructured environment

What Will Not Work

  • Pure development or sampling roles without production ownership
