Description
The Driller position is a field-based position that reports directly to Director, Operations. The position will be based out of Kitchener, Ontario with travel throughout the province expected.
Role Purpose
Operation of Drilling Equipment
- Operation of geo-tech and environmental drilling equipment
- Operate direct push drilling equipment for the purpose of giving the client quality and efficient results.
- Installation of monitoring or groundwater extraction wells in accordance with Reg 903
- Operate hand drilling equipment including restricted access equipment for the purpose of retrieving soil samples or installing wells. This work includes working in restricted areas such as residential basements with heavy lifting.
Safety
- Ensure all GIP safety policies and procedures, as well as Provincial/Federal Acts are followed.
- Be cognizant of and adhere to any site-specific safety requirements.
- Set up, operate and maintain drilling equipment
- Prepare and set up materials and drills as per work instructions for drilling purposes
Various Other Tasks
- Liaise with the Project manager and Superintendent to ensure work is being carried out according to the scope of work and bid or client PO.
- Drive a crew truck to and from site as required.
- Mobilize drilling equipment to sites as required
- Operate equipment as required.
Regulations and Reporting
- Gain a solid understanding of the MECP regulations including Reg903
- Able to read and understand ECAs issued by the MECP for various remediation processes
- Ensure adequate record keeping is performed on job sites to satisfy requirement outlined in ECAs
Position Requirements
- MECP Well Technician license
- Clean Drivers Abstract
- AZ or DZ license an asset
- Results-driven with an ability to deliver success in a fast-paced environment.

- Superb communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple competing priorities.

Compensation:
- Base hourly rate: $45.26
