Position Summary

The Beam Saw Operator is responsible for the accurate cutting of sheet materials according to production specifications, ensuring quality, efficiency, and minimal material waste.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a beam saw / horizontal panel saw to cut sheet materials accurately and efficiently
  • Read and interpret cut lists, shop drawings, and production orders
  • Verify dimensions and inspect finished parts for quality and accuracy
  • Work with MDF, plywood, particle board, laminate panels, melamine, and other sheet goods
  • Optimize material usage to reduce waste and maximize yield
  • Perform basic machine setup, adjustments, and blade changes as required
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Collaborate with CNC operators, assemblers, and production supervisors to meet production deadlines

Qualifications

  • Experience operating a beam saw or similar industrial cutting equipment
  • Ability to read technical drawings and cut lists
  • Strong math and measurement skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good understanding of woodworking materials
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and strong teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in cabinetry, architectural millwork, custom manufacturing, or woodworking
  • Familiarity with CNC production environments and optimization software
  • Forklift certification or material handling experience

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing / woodworking facility
  • Hands-on, physical work
  • Use of specialized industrial equipment
  • Exposure to noise, dust, and material handling (PPE provided)
