Description
The Opportunity
The next generation of mineral discoveries lies in coherent geological systems that are hidden, waiting for geologists who can see them clearly and act with confidence.
Concordens is an exploration technology company building a new framework for mineral discovery. We combine advanced subsurface imaging, integrated geological interpretation, and aligned exploration partnerships into a system designed to continuously improve how mineral systems are identified, understood, and advanced. Unlike conventional contractors, our purpose is not delivering surveys. We aim at creating lasting exploration value by remaining connected to the geological opportunities we help develop. With each project, we refine our approach, deepen our geological understanding, and strengthen our ability to recognize the next opportunity.
We are looking for an ambitious geologist who wants to help shape the future of mineral exploration. The ideal candidate combines strong technical judgement with commercial awareness, is intellectually curious, questions assumptions, and is comfortable thinking beyond conventional exploration workflows. This is not a narrowly defined technical position. You will work directly with the founding team to evaluate opportunities, develop geological concepts, build relationships across the industry, and influence the strategic direction of the company. As an early member of the team, you will help build an organization designed to learn, evolve, and become more effective with every project, partnership, and discovery.
The Role
This is a fluid, high-leverage position designed for a geologist who wants to influence the entire lifecycle of exploration—from the evaluation of emerging opportunities to the development of geological models and exploration strategies. Your responsibilities will span three core areas:
Partnership Development & Strategic Evaluation
Opportunity Assessment: Evaluate early-stage exploration opportunities, geological concepts, and emerging mineral districts to identify where the Concordens system can materially improve exploration outcomes and create value.
Partnership Development: Build collaborative relationships with exploration companies, prospect generators, and industry partners, moving beyond traditional vendor-client dynamics to establish long-term partnerships focused on discovery and value creation.
Strategic Alignment: Work directly with the founding team to develop partnership structures and exploration strategies that align Concordens’ technical capabilities with the long-term success of exploration programs.
Technical Interpretation & Integration
Integrated Geological Interpretation: Work alongside leading geophysicists, seismologists, and exploration practitioners to develop geological interpretations that integrate Ambient Noise Tomography (ANT), geological observations, geochemistry, and complementary geophysical datasets.
Exploration Concept Development: Evaluate geological systems at property and district scale, develop exploration concepts, challenge existing interpretations, and help identify the geological controls most relevant to discovery.
Exploration Strategy & Target Evaluation: Transform complex subsurface datasets into actionable exploration insights, supporting partner teams in refining exploration strategies, prioritizing opportunities, and directing future exploration programs.
Building the Concordens System
System Development: Contribute to the continuous refinement of the Concordens exploration framework, helping determine where its combination of technology, interpretation, and partnership can create the greatest value.
Cross-Disciplinary Integration: Work across geology, geophysics, operations, and business development to ensure that insights gained from one opportunity strengthen the effectiveness of the entire system.
Strategic Expansion: Support the evolution of the Concordens platform as it expands across new geological settings, larger exploration districts, and an increasing number of exploration opportunities.
The Ideal Candidate
The exploration thinker – You have meaningful experience in mineral exploration and a deep interest in understanding geological systems. Whether your background is rooted in industry, academia, or entrepreneurial exploration, you are comfortable evaluating opportunities at multiple scales—from individual targets to emerging districts—and enjoy developing exploration concepts in areas where the answer is not immediately obvious.
The independent problem solver – You are intellectually curious, question assumptions, and are comfortable working with incomplete information. You enjoy challenging conventional interpretations, integrating diverse datasets, and developing your own perspective on complex geological problems.
The opportunity evaluator – You understand that successful exploration requires more than technical expertise alone. You possess strong commercial awareness, appreciate the realities of exploration risk and capital allocation, and can communicate effectively with technical specialists, management teams, and industry partners.
The builder – You are motivated by the opportunity to create something new. You enjoy working in small, highly capable teams, are comfortable operating outside narrowly defined roles, and want your judgement and contributions to have a meaningful impact on the future direction of the organization.
Qualifications
- Meaningful experience in mineral exploration, geological interpretation, or related disciplines.
- Strong understanding of geological systems and three-dimensional geological interpretation.
- Degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, Geophysics, or a related discipline.
- Advanced degrees (M.Sc. or Ph.D.) are welcomed but not required.
- Exploration experience in under-cover environments.
- Experience in district-scale targeting or mineral systems analysis.
- Ideal but not required – familiarity with passive seismic methods, Ambient Noise Tomography (ANT), or other seismic imaging techniques.
About Concordens
Concordens is an exploration technology company building a new framework for mineral discovery beneath cover. We combine advanced subsurface imaging, integrated geological interpretation, and aligned exploration partnerships to systematically identify, refine, and advance deep mineral systems that would otherwise remain hidden or poorly understood.
Our technical foundation integrates Ambient Noise Tomography (ANT), complementary geophysical measurements, and custom autonomous field technologies. Rather than deploying these capabilities as isolated services, we integrate them into a practical exploration system optimized to learn under uncertainty and continuously improve through experience gained across diverse geological environments.
Unlike conventional contractors focused purely on survey delivery and fee-for-service revenue, we aim to remain connected to the long-term value of the opportunities we help develop. This approach ensures that technical insights, operational scale, and exploration outcomes directly reinforce one another over time. We are building an architecture designed not simply to collect information, but to become progressively more effective at driving district-scale discovery.
Our team unites specialists across geophysics, geology, software engineering, and mineral exploration. We value intellectual curiosity, technical rigor, independent thinking, and the grit required to challenge conventional assumptions in pursuit of better exploration outcomes.
