The Role

The HR Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the People and Culture function and delivering a positive employee experience across the organization. Reporting to the Lead, People and Culture, the HR Coordinator is responsible for supporting day-to-day HR operations and contributing to the effective delivery of HR programs and initiatives.

This role provides a broad range of administrative and operational support across areas including onboarding and orientation, HRIS administration, compliance and audits, employee communications and KPI reporting.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Create and coordinate new hire packages including offer letters and onboarding documentation and probationary assessments.
  • Coordinate new hire onboarding including distribution and collection of all required documentation.
  • Enter, maintain and audit employee data in the HRIS (Bamboo) including new hires, status changes, salary and rate changes, leaves of absence and terminations.
  • Organize and enroll employees in applicable programs and systems.
  • Support updates and tracking of site-specific HR policies.
  • Provide administrative support including ad-hoc reporting, seniority reports and job descriptions.
  • Create and maintain organizational charts and distribute employee communications as required.
  • Track and report on team Key Performance Indicators.
  • Maintain and manage HR files and documentation.
  • Support and participate in HR projects and programs.
  • Assist with employee engagement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring to the Table

  • 2-5 years of relevant HR experience.
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources Management or a related business discipline.
  • Currently holding or working towards CHRP designation.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong prioritization and time management skills.
  • Sound judgment with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word Excel and Outlook.
  • Currently residing in the Ottawa-Gatineau region and holding or eligible to obtain a Government of Canada Reliability security clearance.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience with BambooHR is considered an asset.
  • Bilingualism in French and English is considered an asset.
