Description

About the role

Deslaurier is looking for an experienced project and field leader to own the delivery of our cabinetry installations across the Ottawa market — on time, on budget, and to a standard that reflects a 45-year custom manufacturer. This is a management role first: you’ll run the schedule, lead the installers and subtrades, and be the accountable point of contact from the moment a project leaves the plant to final sign-off.

It suits someone who has managed field operations in higher-end residential construction — custom or semi-custom home building, high-end renovation, or millwork/cabinetry installation — and who leads people and projects as confidently as they read a set of drawings.

What you’ll own

  • Delivery of all installations in your market — schedule, quality, budget, and client satisfaction through to sign-off
  • Your installation crews and subcontractors — scheduling, workmanship standards, accountability, and development
  • Subtrade and installer sourcing: recruiting, vetting, and building a reliable bench of quality subs as volume grows
  • The client relationship on site — setting expectations, communicating proactively, and resolving issues before they escalate
  • Site readiness and field conditions — measuring, coordinating with builders and other trades, and catching problems before install day
  • Coordination back to the plant, design, and sales so what’s built matches what’s installed
  • Service and warranty resolution, and the feedback loop that reduces defects over time
  • Field KPIs — on-time-in-full, install quality, rework / cost of poor quality, and schedule adherence

What you bring

  • 7+ years in field operations, project management, or site supervision in residential construction — higher-end custom or semi-custom builders, renovators, or cabinetry/millwork install
  • A proven track record managing people and subtrades, not just doing the work yourself — this is the core of the role
  • Strong project-management discipline: scheduling, budgets, sequencing, and juggling multiple jobs at once
  • The ability to read construction drawings and understand cabinetry, millwork, and field conditions (deep cabinet-making expertise is an asset, not a requirement)
  • Client-facing polish — the judgment and communication to represent Deslaurier to demanding, high-end homeowners and builders
  • A problem-solver who stays calm when a site throws a surprise
  • Valid driver’s licence, reliable vehicle, and willingness to travel to sites across the Ottawa region
  • Authorization to work in Canada

Why Deslaurier

For 45 years we’ve built custom cabinetry from our Ottawa facility — Canadian-owned, with a reputation earned through precision, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement. This role is central to protecting that reputation where it matters most: in the client’s home, on install day. You’ll have the backing of a proven product and a deep manufacturing team, and the mandate to maintain field operations that match the quality of what we make.
