Description

Our client, a leader in the experiential design and fabrication industry is currently searching for a Manager of Project Management to join their talented team. In this role, you would have the opportunity to oversee Project Managers and all ongoing jobs, ensuring that each project is managed seamlessly from the initial Kick-Off meeting with the Sales Team all the way through to the final delivery of products or services to the client. Your leadership would be instrumental in helping the team meet crucial milestones and deliver exceptional results for their clients.

What you should expect:

Team Management – Lead, Manage and Accountability (LMA)

  • Engage, develop, and coach team members.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging employees to identify and implement process enhancements.
  • Set performance expectations and provide feedback on an individual and team basis.
  • Set and maintain a regular schedule of 1 on 1 meetings with each team member.
  • Evaluate team performance and implement improvements in systems, processes, communications, and procedures.

Schedule Projects

  • Validate and demonstrate accountability for the accuracy and maintenance of the Team Gantt Chart and Project Plan.
  • Balance the workload of the team to optimize scheduling, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Monitor schedules, adjust resources to meet deadlines and communicate project risks to the Director of Operations.

Macro Project Management (Job Oversight):

  • Monitor project progress, budgets, and risks.
  • Ensure projects align with organizational goals, cost estimates and resource allocations.
  • Resolve conflicts, identify risks, collaboratively formulate solutions, and in cooperation with project managers, set and adapt resource requirements.
  • Develop emergency response plans and coordinate crisis management for projects facing production risks.
  • Ensure projects adhere to legal and ethical standards.

Macro Project Management (Job Oversight) cont.:

  • Communicate project status to the Director of Operations, Operations colleagues, and Senior Management in weekly project overviews and updates.
  • Travel as needed for client meetings or project visits.
  • Maintain availability for urgent issues.
  • Manage project budgets and flag instances where there may be budget overages or significant savings.
  • Handle sensitive business financial information with confidentiality.
  • Complete other assignments deemed necessary for the company to be successful.

Kick-Off Meetings:

  • Attend and actively participate in meetings to understand the details of the job(s).
  • Identify and communicate risks to the job(s) to the Director of Operations.

Communication:

  • Maintain open and effective communication with cross-functional teams.
  • Effectively communicate revisions and changes to the job(s) to all stakeholders.

Health & Safety:

  • Ensure all team members experience the appropriate Health and Safety Training, both upon joining the team and as required throughout their career.
  • Act as a role model in the demonstration of positive health and safety behaviours at work.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, technology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 7+ years of project management experience, including 2–4 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience managing complex, cross-functional projects and portfolios.
  • Ideally someone with retail and museum experience
