NSERC Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Electrochemical Technologies and Functional Materials for The Environmental Energy Transition
University of Quebec at Trois-Rivières is seeking an expert in electrochemical technologies and functional eco‑materials derived from critical and strategic minerals or renewable resources, for applications in the energy and environmental transition. The research program will align with UQTR’s Strategic Research Plan, emphasizing Energy and Technological Innovation.<br/><br/>Research Focus<br/><br/>Optimization of critical and strategic mineral use in energy systems to reduce dependence and incorporate bio‑based materials.<br/><br/>Study of material aging (particularly in operando) and environmental impact of emerging energy technologies.<br/><br/>Development of technologies with enhanced performance and reliability under extreme climatic conditions.<br/><br/>Integration of advanced computational methods and artificial intelligence for micro‑nanostructure discovery and complex dynamic systems.<br/><br/>Responsibilities
The successful candidate will lead an independent, innovative research program; contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching; foster intersectoral research within the Joint Research Unit and partner with local stakeholders; and leverage state‑of‑the‑art infrastructure.<br/><br/>Qualifications<br/><br/>PhD in a relevant discipline (electrochemical engineering, materials science, etc.).<br/><br/>Record of scholarly research and publications.<br/><br/>Experience in teaching and training students is an asset.<br/><br/>Proficiency in French sufficient for teaching and administration, or commitment to attaining proficiency.<br/><br/>Institutional Resources<br/><br/>Energy transition technology platform with electrochemical and energy technology test benches.<br/><br/>Advanced electrochemical equipment and characterization systems.<br/><br/>Manufacturing, processing, and deposition equipment.<br/><br/>High‑performance computing infrastructure.<br/><br/>Salary and Benefits
