Reporting to the Manager, Professional Services, the Psychoeducational Consultant supports students’ learning, social, emotional, and behavioural development. The role requires strong interpersonal, organisational, and time‑management skills, creativity, flexibility, and commitment to improving students’ lives and educational outcomes.<br/><br/>Areas of Responsibility<br/><br/>Facilitate therapeutic groups using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing frameworks.<br/><br/>Deliver psychoeducation and professional learning to staff, students, and families.<br/><br/>Contribute to preventatives programming in collaboration with local and regional initiatives.<br/><br/>Collaborate with multidisciplinary professional teams.<br/><br/>Manage a busy caseload and schedule with exceptional organisational skills.<br/><br/>Apply a deep conceptual grasp of executive functioning, theories of change, and techniques in motivational interviewing.<br/><br/>Maintain proficiency in structured brief interventions, CBT, and DBT skill‑building.<br/><br/>Provide single‑session brief support for students needing executive‑functioning assistance.<br/><br/>Offer drop‑in learning strategy sessions for Grades 7‑12, focusing on habit building and executive‑functioning skills.<br/><br/>Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments for students with complex neuro‑developmental profiles as part of a multidisciplinary team.<br/><br/>Ensure culturally responsive and identity‑affirming support for a diverse student population.<br/><br/>Adhere to the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO) Standards of Professional Conduct and the Canadian Code of Ethics.<br/><br/>Perform other duties assigned by the Manager of Professional Services within the scope of the role.<br/><br/>Qualifications<br/><br/>Master’s degree in Psychology (or related field) from an accredited university.<br/><br/>Eligibility for autonomous registration with CPBAO as a Psychologist or Psychological Associate. Consideration for applicants with non‑autonomous standing or registration with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).<br/><br/>Proven experience in a school‑board setting providing psychological services to children and adolescents.<br/><br/>Demonstrated success running therapeutic groups with engaging methods.<br/><br/>Strong familiarity with mental health, special education, and educational programming.<br/><br/>History of collaborative work with multidisciplinary teams and strong partnerships with students, families, and school staff.<br/><br/>Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.<br/><br/>Capacity to work independently and seek guidance when needed.<br/><br/>Exemplary skills in Google Suite and professional record‑keeping.<br/><br/>Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within all areas of the Halton region.<br/><br/>Preferred Qualifications<br/><br/>Registration with CPBAO.<br/><br/>Experience supporting diverse youth, including equity‑deserving groups.<br/><br/>Proficiency in data management, analysis, and reporting.<br/><br/>Training in providing consultation to schools working with selective mutism.<br/><br/>Appointments Are Conditional Upon<br/><br/>Provision of an original copy of a criminal background check with vulnerable sector screening dated within six months.<br/><br/>Agreement to comply with the Board’s policies, procedures, and code of conduct.<br/><br/>Diversity and Inclusion
