Program Manager – Cloud Cost Optimization (FinOps)

📍 Location: British Columbia (T4 candidates only $55-66/hr)

⏳ Contract Duration: 6 months

What You’ll Do

  • Own and drive end-to-end FinOps programs, from intake and prioritization through execution, tracking, and executive reporting
  • Identify and deliver optimization opportunities including:
  • Rightsizing and idle resource cleanup
  • Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and Azure Reservations
  • Storage tiering and lifecycle management
  • Egress reduction strategies
  • Kubernetes cost controls
  • Establish a strong operating rhythm with:
  • Weekly cost and variance reviews
  • Savings backlog management
  • Anomaly detection and triage
  • Improve cost transparency and accountability through:
  • Tagging standards and governance
  • Showback/chargeback readiness
  • Executive-ready dashboards (spend, forecast, savings realized)
  • Develop repeatable playbooks and guardrails to ensure long-term cost discipline beyond the contract

What You Bring

  • 10+ years of program or project management experience in cloud, platform, or infrastructure environments
  • Proven track record of reducing cloud spend across AWS and Azure, with a strong understanding of cloud billing, pricing models, and cost drivers
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior technical and business leaders
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights

Nice to Have

  • FinOps certification
  • Experience with containerized/Kubernetes environments
  • Hands-on experience with BI and dashboarding tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker)
