Company Description

Cronin Exploration Inc. is a Smithers, BC based project generator focused on assembling and advancing a portfolio of exploration and development asset. We take a data driven approach with a healthy dose of commercial realism to the acquisition and advancement of the projects we get involved in. Cronin is active in Canada, Australia, Zambia, Namibia, Botswana and Cote D’Ivoire.

Cronin typically funds the first several phases of exploration internally before bringing a partner in to drill and advance its projects. Once a partner is in place Cronin typically continues to manage the project through several additional exploration phases. We take a bit of a let’s roll our sleeves up and get it done type of approach to exploration. Cronin’s management believes in ambitious objectives, hard work and goal oriented high impact exploration. Let’s prove or disprove our theories.

Role Description

Are you an experienced geologist looking to take on a challenge? Do you have a diverse skillset and range of experience that you think makes you an efficient project/ exploration geologist and effective team leader? Do you enjoy a close-knit work environment and remote small exploration camps where you get to operate independently and do a bit of everything?

Cronin Exploration is looking for self starting, responsible, practical individuals to join the team as Project/ Exploration Geologist. Working directly with the Exploration Manager & Operations Manager as well as other senior staff, The candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the project cycle, from initial conceptualization and planning, through execution, management and control, to project closure and development of deliverables. Project/ Exploration Geologists are in a public and at times partner-facing position and will be expected to represent the principles of sound exploration and community relations as well as dedication to exceptional quality of work.

Responsibilities

With the guidance and mentorship of senior staff, the Project/ Exploration Geologist is responsible for:

·        Leading strict adherence to Cronin’s Code of Conduct, Non-Disclosure Agreements, and EGBC Code of Ethics.

·        Ensuring compliance with the Employment Standards Act; Mines Act; Mineral Tenure Act; Professional Governance Act; Health, Safety and Reclamation Codes; and all other applicable Acts and Codes within the project jurisdiction.

·        Developing detailed program budgeting, forecasting, precision cost tracking.

·        Leading geological and other project staff.

·        Designing, implementing, managing and closing target development programs, such as mapping; rock, soil, stream sediment sampling; geochemical and geophysical surveys.

·        Designing, implementing, managing and completing exploration drilling programs.

·        Developing report and marketing-quality maps using GIS software to support field operations and reporting.

·        Developing reports, memos and other documents including NI 43-101 Technical Reports, Assessment Reports, technical memoranda, presentations, and other instruments for the purposes of communicating technical data and information.

·        Adhere to and execute Cronin’s Health & Safety and Operations programs as they are designed

·        Other responsibilities commensurate with the role.

Qualifications

·        Bachelor’s or higher-level degree in an earth science from a recognized post-secondary institution.

·        At least five (4) years recent relevant experience in fieldwork related to mineral exploration and mining.

·        Direct drilling-related management experience is an asset

·        GIS qualifications or relevant experience in producing digital maps. Experience with QGIS is considered an asset.

·        Registered as a Professional Geoscientist or Professional Engineer with Engineers and Geoscientists BC, or equivalent Canadian or American organization, or enrolled as a Geoscientist-in-Training (“GIT”) and committed to complete registration as a Professional;

·        Demonstratable experience developing Assessment Reports, developing and managing budgets, managing a team and communicating with clients, partners and local residents.

Requirements

Applicants must:

·        Legally able to work in Canada in a professional capacity, indefinitely;

·        Hold a valid BC Class 5 driver’s license, or equivalent issued by a jurisdiction in Canada and willingness to provide a recent driver’s abstract;

·        Hold a Mines Supervisor Certificate (British Columbia);

·        Be willing to provide proof of credentials;

·        Have demonstrated excellent command of technical English both written and spoken;

·        Have the ability to travel to and remain at remote project sites for up to 28 days consecutive days;

·        Provide at least three (3) references who can verify work experience, performance, and character.
