Job Description: Release Manager

Duration: 12 Months

Work Model: Hybrid – 4 days a week in office

Role Overview

The Release Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating end-to-end release and deployment processes, ensuring reliable, repeatable IT services and effective collaboration across teams while maintaining strong governance, communication, and risk management practices.

Key Responsibilities

Create and manage end-to-end release plans for scheduling, planning, and controlling release and deployment processes

Integrate release management practices into delivery processes to ensure reliable and repeatable IT services at appropriate service levels

Provide recommendations based on technical expertise related to efficiency, reliability, scalability, and security

Drive best practices and support planning, evaluation, operationalization, and reporting of deliverables

Act as an owner and drive consensus and decision-making among stakeholders

Establish infrastructure for tracking and monitoring updates and changes and convert information into reporting, recommendations, schedules, and decisions

Provide accurate, comprehensive, and reliable communication and reporting

Manage correspondence with clear articulation of impacts

Provide subject matter expertise for Release and Deployment management and other IT support teams

Participate in remediation planning and collision avoidance strategies

Identify and address control and communication failures to prevent future issues

Provide updates to senior leadership on accomplishments, opportunities, and organizational trends

Identify, manage, and escalate risks and dependencies to protect organizational interests

Essential Skills:

Experience creating and managing end-to-end release plans

Strong understanding of integrating release management practices into delivery processes

Ability to translate technical expertise into actionable recommendations

Strong stakeholder management, decision-making, and leadership capabilities

Expertise in tracking, monitoring, and reporting release activities

Strong communication skills with ability to clearly articulate impacts

Experience providing guidance across Release & Deployment and IT support functions

Ability to identify risks, dependencies, and control failures

Proficiency with IT workflow and collaboration tools:

ServiceNow

JIRA

Confluence

Ability to independently create and manage work items in tools

Familiarity with delivery methodologies:

Agile

Waterfall

Hybrid models

Understanding of DevOps and continuous delivery principles and practices
